Aussie man claims his car has a 'hidden' feature that can be used to hold Bunnings snags

Sausage sizzles at Bunnings are a classic Australian fundraiser, providing non-profit groups, community, and charitable organisations with an easy and effective way to bring in much-needed donations.

It's a popular after-shopping treat—one might even say it's inexcusable to leave the store without purchasing a snag. It’s un-Australian.

But there's a catch when it comes to buying these sausage snags and carrying them back to our cars: holding them is a hassle! We can either wolf it all down on the way to the car, or we can stay in the parking lot and take our time.

If only there was somewhere we could put them so they would remain in place while we were driving…

It looks like our car really does have a place where we can put these snags! An Aussie driver claims that his vehicle has a 'hidden' compartment that is perfect for storing a sausage sizzle lunch from Bunnings.

According to his post, the Bunnings shopper found that the best spot to store his food is the empty space on the left side of the steering wheel of his Toyota Hilux.

'Who would have thought Toyota Hilux comes with a sausage snag holder?' he said in the clip.

The driver can be seen in the video putting away his sausage sizzle sanger, which is served in a bun and can be purchased at most Bunnings locations, in the left slot of his steering wheel.

This way, he can easily pull the Bunnings snag out to eat while the traffic lights are red, take a bite, and then put it back to continue driving. Pretty convenient, eh? Though we’re not sure that it’s entirely legal…

Just a word of warning, folks: we don't recommend driving while holding and eating a Bunnings snag; doing so could be risky because your complete attention isn’t on the road.

It's always best to finish your food before you get behind the wheel.

Don't be like the driver in this TikTok video below - he also curses a lot here, so watch at your own discretion, folks!

It is also not the most hygienic area to put your food, so everyone should exercise extreme caution before putting their food there and following this 'advice'. Definitely give it a good clean first.

So what do you think of this, folks? And do tell us: what do you usually put in that empty slot of your car? For us, that's where we put our coins and small lollies when we need a quick sugar fix. Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!

Wow…this really is a non story 🫤🫤🫤

At my local Bunning's you are lucky if you get 1 slice of dry bread around your sausage. Good profit for the charity, but poor value for the buyer. Bunning's should have a standard that must be met.

Pretty sure the sausage sandwiches are sold by a local group - CWA or such, the funds go to their work in the community…so the standard of the product is not their issue, they just provide a venue!!

I believe if you are in Perth, you get a roll with your Bunnings sausage.
Actually, Bunnings have strict guidelines for the products you are able to sell at their venue. You have to provide onions, sausages, bread, and sauces. You can only sell certain drinks.
Bunnings stipulate the prices to be charged, and you have to use their cooking facilities, you can't bring your own.

Well I was part of a fund raising group doing so at Bunnings nearly 30 years ago here in Perth and it was rolls and as far as I can remember and it still is bread rolls.
