I have had many many emails from myGov telling me of tax refunds, outstanding payments, etc. you name it they have it listed ! Trouble is when I went to the link on the myGov app. (NOT in the email link) I had no unread emails in the inbox there. I found out later that Centrelink/Tax Dept. etc. do not send emails for demands but send written requests by surface mail instead. What really annoys me is the way that we are constantly told cash is no longer needed - we can pay for everything online instead ! Yes, sure !!!

It's crazy the ammount of scams.

I received an email saying they had proof I had been on pornography sites and unless I transferred $3000 evidence would be sent to all my contacts.

I wanted to reply 'go ahead' or reply with 'dickhead' but just deleted it.

I thought later how this could make someone very nervous, even though they were innocent, thinking someone might send it to the person's contacts. And how someone might actually pay it.
I had a similar one sent to me several times but just deleted it asI knew I had not been on any pornographic site and would like to have told them to go ahead and prove it.

I received a similar email and just deleted it. But I still know how you feel.

I had that one a few years ago, showed my wife and she said oh John stop looking at other women

Ive been reminded I have unpaid toll fees, pay up or else. I live in a state with no toll roads and havent been out of my state for 12 years. Ive won $250,000 and a truck , all I have to do to collect it is to give them all of my personal information, this came from someone claiming to be King Charles 111,. Lots of King Charles on Facebook. Sorry to the real King Charles cant be your friend, I dont know the real one from the crooked ones. jay2

I also got scamed by Prince William Facebook. My own fault but he offered a gift and we need home improvements and no money. Bank etc won't help, gave small mortgage and our house is only 400,000. They only got 750 but that hurt, I was an idiot but won't happen again. Beware he showed me photos of gifts given to people in England. The old saying, if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is!

Elon Musk imposters are giving away plenty of Tesla's and $100.000 in cash like it's going out of fashion. I've won enough enough Tesla's to open a dealership and enough cash to live forever. The only catch is, you need to send a $500 Apple Gift Card to validate your fake prize. I have to wonder how many people fall for this scam. I have never entered a competion to win of these prizes. If only I could win the real lotto this many times.

Sometimes I wonder if I know my partner at all lol..
Just yesterday I could hear him getting frustrated, he was in the lounge on his laptop and I was in the spare room on my desktop.
I asked him what was wrong and he said he couldn't log into his My Gov account, now normally i'm the one that deals with all these kinds of things like My Gov and Centerlink, I log us in in other words.
So he tells me he got an email from "My Gov" saying something about his tax, which we don't pay tax as we're both on disibility pensions.
I asked him what email address he was using and what password, he got the email address correct but the password was a very old one, he'd since changed it and I kept a copy of what it is, thank god he didn't otherwise he may have let someone into his account to do god knows what!!
I asked him if the email he received had any clickable links on it, he said the log in one was clickable but none of the others were, which is a dead give away that it's shonky.
I also told him to point his mouse at the sign in link and have a look at the very bottom left of his laptop to check what the address was, sure enough it was some weird fake name, nothing to do with My Gov AU.
So then I told him if he ever gets stuck like that again, or isn't sure of his log in details to SPEAK TO ME, honestly, some men, or woman for that matter LOL

LAtes scam received yesterday - Warning that my Bigpond (in 2 different colours - VERY OLD logo) email security settings were outdated and i needed to change them. I always look at the sending address for any unknowns. This one came from iinet!!!!!!!. Do they really think most people are that DUMB. So make a habit of reading and checking before pushing the button to click thru the links. Saves lots of grief and stress
Yes. Definitely check the sender’s email address! It can usually tell you with all the bizarre letters etc and incorrect addresses that it’s a scam.

I had one this morning telling me (from google wallet ) just because I havn't used my cards for 90 days that they were taking my cards out of google wallet. ? I have been using my cards that I have in my wallet. I don't know how the scammers intend to gain out of sending me that message.
They probably expected you to click through to your account through the email and that’s how they get you. Some scammers are so advanced that you don’t even need to put any of your information in. You just click the link and it gives them complete access to everything 😡

Russian Mafia no. Years ago I was affiliated with the Rebels and Gypsy Jokers bikers but distanced myself due to less than savoury practices and the infiltration of Eastern European and Middle Eastern factions. My knowledge of all thing chemistry made me a valuable commodity in the 1980s and 90s
Street knowledge is definitely valuable!

I recently received an email purporting to come from a company that I do buy from online. It told me that my order could not be completed as my payment had not been honoured and I would need to re-submit it. It looked very official, mentioned the exact amount of the transaction and included a link for payment.
As I had just that morning picked up my parcel from the post office and it contained my complete order I immediately knew it to be a scam as there is no company on this earth that would send items unpaid for.
I sent a copy of the email to the company involved, notified scam watch then deleted the email but it is scary that they knew exactly how much was involved.
Makes you wonder whether the scammers pay someone at that company to pass on the mailing list or it is an actual employee themselves. Same for all the AuPost and Temu and McAfee etc.
