62-year-old dons bikini to hit back at ‘ageism’: ‘I look better at 62 than I did at 30!’

Age should never be a barrier to what an ambitious and determined person can do.

But some still believe that with ageing comes restrictions. This 62-year-old woman has made it her mission to prove the naysayers wrong.

Renee Gould Is a Canadian woman who claims she feels better now than when she was 30, and often flaunts photos of herself striking a pose and strutting her stuff to her TikTok account.

However, her willingness to show off her body online has been criticised by many online. For every positive comment, she has also battled critics who say that she's ‘too old’.

Still, the 62-year-old ‘longevity seeker’ wants to remind everyone that age should not dictate what a person can or cannot do.

In one of the videos she posted on the platform, Renee addressed the hate comments she received while wearing a bikini.

‘At 62, I still wear a bikini in spite of negative comments,’ she captioned the video. This clip was positively received by many social media users, who agreed with her and said that she looked ‘great’ and ‘absolutely gorgeous’.

‘You are absolutely stunning, don’t let anyone tell you differently,’ one stated.

While someone else said that Renee should always be proud to show off who she is. ‘We only get one shot at this life – make it count!’ They added.

You can watch her video below:

According to Renee, exercising regularly and following a strict vegan diet are her secrets to looking and feeling young.

In another video, Renee claimed that ‘age is not an excuse’ to stop exercising. The clip showed her running at the beach in a bright red bikini:

Many of her viewers sent her their love, with some saying she is ‘an inspiration’ to everyone.

‘Looking great, beautiful!’ One wrote.

While another said that the video she uploaded reminded them of the hit show, Baywatch.

‘Easier said than done. Lifestyle, family, and work play a role in it. But yes, we need to keep moving,’ someone else commented.

But it’s not just Renee that’s defying the stereotypes regarding age and beauty. Dr Mark Hyman, a 63-year-old longevity doctor, claimed that his body is biologically 20 years younger than his actual age. He also revealed his secrets to staying and looking youthful.

In a post he shared on Instagram, the doctor shared his ‘core longevity principles’.

He captioned: ‘Increasing lifespan and healthspan are not just about treating disease but about building long-term resilience and vitality. Some say if you live longer, you will spend more time with chronic disease and disability, increasing the burden on society and our health care system. This isn’t true.’

He declared that simple daily habits hold the key to longevity potential.

First, he said to avoid ultra-processed foods. ‘Dysfunctional nutrient-sensing pathways are the most critical hallmark of ageing. Food is the key to either harm (with our modern diet) or optimise these pathways,’ he added.

Next is to get quality sleep. To improve your sleep, stick to a sleep schedule, avoid screens before bed, and create a dark and quiet atmosphere. If you want to curate your own bedtime routine, we have got you covered.

Exercising, specifically, strength training is the next piece of advice Dr Hyman gave. He said that preserving, building and optimising muscle function are ‘the keys to the fountain of youth’.

Next is to build a community or find your purpose. ‘The most powerful way to stay healthy and connect to your purpose is to be part of some type of community,’ he said. A psychologist also supports this claim and says that friendship and other social relationships are important to human beings. You can read more details here.

Lastly, Dr Hyman said that chronic stress creates an increased risk of contracting chronic diseases. So, it’s important to regularly practise stress management. Try guided meditations or keep a journal and write down your deepest feelings.

Simply, never to late to make improvements to diet and exercise patterns/habits. Like the "labels" say, results will vary. Genetics will play a part. I myself, have started a change, yes I've slipped back, but get back on track as soon as you can. Like most things in life, " stop whinging and get on with it". Everyone is different, do what is best for you.

Yes, I agree to a large extent. We are much too focused on a person’s age, and the media is not helping! How many times have we been subjected to a story such as, ‘a 52 year old man from Bankstown collided with a 23 year old from Revesby . . . ‘ Who really cares how old the two are??? I believe in the old saying, that ‘you’re only as old as you feel’. Largely it is how we feel in our bodies, not for anyone else to tell us that ‘we’re old’ or looking older! Maintain a positive mental attitude at all times, regulate your body’s intake, and live your best and happiest life! Surround yourself with positive people, not negative whingers.

She looks amazing but it's not all natural like you think , she has had breast surgery implants and botox on her lips and eyes .

I've seen plenty of boobs in my job and recognise implants .

The main thing to looking great is diet and exercise and to love yourself no matter what.
Yes I noticed the round boobs so I wish people would be honest and say with some HELP you can look like this, don't make it like it is Natural. I really don't care what people look like.

Neither do I I look at what's inside. You can be beautiful on the outside yet very ugly on the inside.

In the work I was in I saw alot of naked women and women full of botox and ALOT who had boob jobs . Each to their own just don't try to fool people into believing it's all natural

With the History of my genetics, I should be long dead. But no, I am still here pushing 86 & completely happy to be mostly by myself. I don't need people to come & talk s**t to me as most of them are nowhere the same as me happy, with who I am. Others seem to always have something or someone to complain about. I love my life just reading & doing craftwork whatever takes my fancy at the time. Yes, I would like someone to go out with to the cinema but as I am so fussy about food not to eat out. I have a saying over my bed that I will never take down. It says I want to live forever so far so good. I don't want to tempt fate by taking it down. Ha! ha!

If I had a body like that I’d probably flaunt it a little, not so much a bikini, though, but a nice bathing suit with a little sarong. Have to keep the men guessing don’t want them thinking your easy 😂😂 at 60+😂 sorry if that offends anybody😜

Sorry, hard to know if your agreeing with me or not. As long as your happy 😊

Of course age can limit……all depends of so many factors, but above all your health!!!
So everything is relative!! How many of us men and women, need medication that messes up our bodies with all the side effects, either inside and outside? Those “influencers“ are part of a certain rare group of people that can count themselves fortunate to have good genes and go on for more a few years. Good on them.
I look after myself the best I can and my mind is young, but my body can’t do what I would like to 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m working on it 😁😁 little by little 👍🏼👍🏼
