“This post is EVERYTHING!”: British bride-to-be’s hilarious fake tan fiasco goes viral on social media
A British bride-to-be has gone viral on Facebook after she shared photos of her hilarious pre-wedding fake tan disaster.

36-year-old Derrie Matthews detailed in a Facebook post how she went out to get a spray tan two days before her wedding in a bid to add some colour to her "super pale" complexion.

The bride-to-be asked the beautician to double spray her with the 'darkest tan possible', admitting that it "seemed like a good idea at the time".

However, when her partner and daughter saw her when she got home from her tanning appointment, the pair burst into laughter.

Derrie wrote on a Facebook post: “Dolly was nearly crying in case any of her friends saw me. I thought they were overreacting."

The beautician told her to only wash off the tan after eight hours of leaving it on. A simple instruction that Derrie chose not to do, out of fear that the tan would stop developing.

However, the mum realised that she made a huge mistake upon waking up the next morning.

The bride-to-be also compared her hilarious fake tan fiasco to an episode of Friends, a popular American sitcom, where one of the main characters, Ross Geller, had a similar experience. The character ended up getting a far darker grade "eight" shade instead of a lighter shade after he misunderstood the tanning procedure.

Fortunately, Derrie was able to wash off most of the fake tan, saving her from walking down the aisle with an extreme tan.

The hilarious Facebook post went viral, amassing more than 3000 comments and 18,000 likes.

One Facebook user wrote: “This post is EVERYTHING! This reminds me of the time I fake tanned then breastfed my child when she was 4 months old."

“You’ve actually made my day, brilliant," another added.

A third wrote: “Thank you for sharing – this made me proper chuckle! Glad you’re sorted.”
