Dog owners may face jail time, up to $100K fines in proposed law following serious dog attacks

Great idea but I think they should include sone other breeds as well. Also include cross breeds with any of these banned breeds in them

You won't believe this Aussie messed up their front yard

I used to say a large truck every second year for a carton of beer. A solid weekend and the pile was gone. It was a semi load style truck load so there was plenty of it. I put it out about 6 inches thick and it was gone in a couple of years. I lived on non wetting sand so was worth it. Reading...

Your face and fingerprint might soon be your myGov password

I had my voice recognition turned off because it’s the easiest thing to hack. I used to change my accent, the way I spoke, tone of my voice and kept getting put through. I have since found out that voice recognition is the easiest thing to get through. Facial recognition can also be replicated...

Optus outage leaves people and businesses stranded: ‘I told you so’

People get upset and angry with an Optus fail. I want to see what happens when our electricity grid crashes it becomes the victim of a terrorist stack. (Look at the radicals protesting on our streets to see it wouldn’t be a surprise if it happened). With no power comes no networks, no WiFi, no...

Aussies on social media discover 'trick' to resolve Centrelink issues faster

As an admin in a facebook group we have been concerned about this email address for sometime. Some of us tried it and results were varied with most not getting a reply. So yesterday I decided to call Services Australia to find out the truth. They were very concerned about its existence and...

A bizarre video raised questions about the new surveillance system at this Coles store

I had my own security company and store staff can ask and legally do to inspect your bags. Most stores have signage saying they have the right. Entry to the store is giving them permission to do that. That’s the law.

A bizarre video raised questions about the new surveillance system at this Coles store

I was a CCTV installer and it’s legal with a sign but it has a sign up at the front near the entry and that is ALL that is required to make it legal.. as a former company owner installing these device I do know how places get around that law you quoted.

A bizarre video raised questions about the new surveillance system at this Coles store

Wether you agree with them or not they were well out of line doing what they were doing. Chiles have signage up saying that CCTV is being used. They did not have the right to video people on private property without permission. Push back, yes for sure, but do it properly. That’s what get s...

Gone by year’s end? Coles shopper shares self-service checkout warning, retail giant responds

Cash is still only legal tender unless a sign is displayed saying no cash. (See the ACCC website) E lose power and it’s more than egos that goes. You can’t but anything at supermarkets because the scanners don’t work. There is some emergency lighting which is only there to help you leave the...

Gone by year’s end? Coles shopper shares self-service checkout warning, retail giant responds

It’s a common lack of knowledge that cash is legal tender in Australia. It is but if the business displays a sign saying they do not accept cash that’s all they need. This regulation can be found on the ACCC website.

A cautionary tale: How online prescription nearly led to this woman's demise

Very hard with the way medical services are structured these days to have a family doctor. Seeing adr face to face doesn’t always fix the problem. I was a lucky one when prescribed Tramadol. I was on anti depressants and went to the duty dr for pain meds. He prescribed Tranadol. It put me into...

Millions of Aussies can breathe easier with 'essential' bulk billing relief—are you one of them?

It’s about time!! What about specialists who charge a gap as much as $200. I am waiting to see 4 but being on the pension and paying 85% of it to stay here and then there are meds (reached PBS limit) toiletries and need private health which it looks as if it will have to go. All that is more...

Qantas defends its actions in the ACCC 'ghost flights' case as reasonable

It’s amazing how other airlines managed to get back to flying post covid. Although flights were canceled it did not cause the problems that Qantas caused. They got over 2 billion from US to keep them going in covid. Once again other airlines did not get that support from their respective...

Scandal unfolds as couple loses $139k in shocking luxury car scam—now they're getting SUED by the dealer!

Hackers break into the account either by going around the password or use software to break it. I was in hospital with a guy who in less than 5 minutes had got into my Facebook account in less than 5 minutes. He bypassed the windows login password then went deep into the windows program and...

Centrelink's outrageous wait times exposed as Senators grill bosses

As an admin in a facebook help group for Services Aust (not an official group) I regularly see people that have been trying for days to get through. Qantas ticket price hike sparks outrage amid living cost crisis: 'We have no choice'

Maybe Joyce should have been made to repay money he made when he sold off his huge share portfolio just prior to announcements that caused the shares to drop. Should be dragged back from Ireland aboard a Qantas flight so he can see the harm he has done the airline first hand.

Is a cashless society in Australia closer than we think?

Yes, everything. I guess you know the old English terminology for wanting to go to the toilet. That is going from spend a penny to the term “ is that tap or swipe?” Agree. Not sure if you are on social media but there is a group on Facebook called cash is king support for Australian...

Is a cashless society in Australia closer than we think?

The banks are phasing out cash but along with many Aussies I am passing cash in. This is all connected back to WEF, WHO and the UN and their mandate. Part of that mandate was the division of a nation but Australia woke up and voted no. Let’s hope we wake up and stream the flow to a cashless society.
