I would never entertain any "service" where a fee is charged on top of purchase price of goods - so, none of them. Neither do I pay bank or credit card fees! I do, however, collect Flybuys and Everyday Rewards points and Drake petrol discount dockets, using all of them.

Not only do I want to retain the option of cash over card, I deplore self-service checkouts. Older customers using the remaining one or two cash checkouts in Coles need to be assisted by staff anyway. So what's the point? Service? Blah!

I'm not surprised. The only answer to the phone problem is to completely ban them from inside vehicles. We survived before they existed and still can if we are dedicated enough. Throw it in the boot before you drive.

The old saying applies: if it ain't broke, don't fix it! I refuse to get a smart phone or fancy watch and am perfectly happy with credit card or cash, always ensuring no fees apply. Leave me alone!
