    Scrumptious homemade Cornish pasties

Although this recipe sounds yummy my Cornish granma would have a fit. She taught me to make pasties when I was a little girl. True cornish pasties are made with suet pastry no short crust and rarely have any meat. Pasties were miners food and miners families were quite poor so a few scraps of...

Get the chance to win a million-dollar bottle of whiskey from Vintage Cellar!

Who would want a $1 million bottle of whisky? You surely wouldn't want to drink it. Interesting that Ian Crane-Luff explains it would undrinkable anyway. Personally I'd rather have a couple of bottles of Grange.

Woman’s air travel dilemma causes fierce debate online, social media users described it as “petty”

In my experience the reclining seats in economy are very poorly designed. If the person in front of you reclines you end up with a lap full of seat. You are entitled to your space. You paid for you seat after all. But if the seat reclines you are also entitled to recline it. It's a Catch 22...

Remembering the day Australia had its first coloured TV in 1975 — “One of my abiding memories from childhood!”

My Dad rented a colour TV for us to see the 1972 Olympics. We thought all our Christmases had come at once. Dad loved watching the football in colour so much we ended up kerping the TV for good.

    Delectable Millionaire Shortbread

Love the shortbread recipe thanks Tricia sounds so easy. Both my Mum and my Granma made this caramel slice. They didn't call it Millionaire Shortbread but it's the same recipe. Mum and Granma both msde their own caramel which was especially yuuummmy!

Coles releases LIMITED-EDITION jalapeno flavoured hot cross buns!

Although I'm unhappy about all these variations on a theme and only traditional style hot cross buns should be marked with a cross all these latest flavours are yuuummmy. I expect Coles jalapeno one will be too. Coles have the best by far bakery items. Beautiful bread especially the wholegrain...

Dan Murphy's, BWS, and more to remove Russian-made products from shelves

I applaud and support this idea. I am actually a vodka collector and have just over 50 varieties of my favourite "drop". Personally I prefer French or Alaskan vodka. Both are much smoother than traditional Russian vodka. Belvedere is the nicest in my opinion but is quite expensive. A very nice...

Coles worker’s moving ‘act of kindness’ leaves a customer bawling in tears!

Over the years I have found all the staff at our Coles at Kenmore Village are wonderful. My husband and I are both in wheelchairs and the Coles staff help us in so many ways I doubt we could manage without them. We actually gave up shopping at other supermarkets because the Kenmore Coles staff...

Husband’s controversial tip for a happy marriage receives MASSIVE backlash – “Terrible Advice!”

I completely agree with Jordey's advise after 54 years of marriage. I also agree with most of the so-called contoversial advice given by George. My wonderful hubby and I have been very happily married for 34 years. I believe our children learned their values from our relationship. They now all...

Woolies shopper discovers ‘hidden’ problem in her pack of mince meat

I actually gave up buying meat at Woolies quite some time ago because I'd had this problem many times and although I mentioned it to staff and even returned on pack of mince that was 225grms short once noyhing changed. In fact I've learnt to avoid a lot of Woolies home brand items because their...

Crafty mum turned these $7 Kmart buys into beautiful home decorations!

That is so creative Michelle. I think there is a real talent in looking at something and using it in a completely different creative way to it's intended use. And as for the rude, knitpicker Halona who cares if YOU differentiate between knobs and handles. It surely doesn't matter to the...

Dan Murphy’s unveils winners of Decoded Wine Awards 2022

This is a wonderful list of wines. I have actually already had some of them and can attest to the fact that all the ones I've tried have been yuuummmy. I already knew about this annual judging but have never been able to find out how to get hold of a list of the winning wines. Can anyone help me?

Paul McCartney’s former personal chef reveals the musician’s favourite burger BUT it misses ONE MAIN INGREDIENT — can you guess what that is?

Sounds brilliant. I'm sure I'd enjoy it but it's huge. I'd definitely have to share it. Surely Sir Paul doesn't eat this on his own. He wouldn't need to anything else for the whole day.

Reddit users were blown away by brilliant trolley hack at Coles’ self-serve checkout: “Changed my world”

I'm disabled so I have to do all my shopping from my wheelchair. I can't use self-checkouts anywhere. None of them are made at a height that someone in a wheelchair can reach. I really want one of these supermarkets to put at least one disabled height checkout for all of us. We're customers too!

Where do we draw the line? Mum left devastated after seven-year-olds shame his son’s lunch box meal

This 7 year old is some nutritionist! I think it's fine. After doing lunches for four kids over many years I'd rather send some things my kids really liked along with what was good for them than send a wholly A1 lunch that the kids bring home not eaten.

Customers poke fun over sales pricing blunders: “Bargain of the century!”

This sort of thing happened to me just before Christmas when I found a rack of men's polo shirts with a huge red sign on the top of the rack saying "all items 40% off". I chose 4 lovely shirts for my hubby for a Christmas gift. However when I took them to the register the cashier said they were...

Healthier version of the Maccas frappe? Yes, please!

Oooooo goody! I loooove Maccas chocolate frappes! But obviously HAAATE the calories. These ingredients are definitely on my shopping list.

Foodie says bacon sangas should be made with marmalade – and people are divided

This sounds like something Elvis Presley would have loved. Didn't he eat enormous sandwiches with pounds of bacon and banana a number of times a day. Oh oh! Bit fattening hey!

Maccas now offers an interesting Sundae flavour…

I wish we could get these coriander sundaes at Maccas in Queensland. I bet they are yummy. Being a coriander fiend I'm sure I'd love them.
