When it comes to healthy versions of our fast-food favourites, we can always count on Bec Hardgrave for the job.
In case you’re unfamiliar with her, she’s a Brisbane-based health and fitness coach who has become popular online for creating healthier alternatives to a variety of classic fast-food meals and treats.
We love her work here at the SDC, and we have previously shared some of her amazing fakeaway recipes, such as her version of Nando’s chicken and chips, her Grill’d chips, and of course, her take on the Maccas McFlurry.
And now, she’s back for another Maccas favourite! This time, she came up with a much healthier version of their chocolate frappe. And like the rest, this one is easy to whip up at home!
Bec claimed that her recipe tasted just like the real thing. Credit: TikTok/@BecHardgrave.
For this recipe, Bec uses only five ingredients:
- 125ml Good Yums No Added Sugar Chocolate-flavoured Milk
- 1 sachet of Jarrah Classic Hot Chocolate Powder
- 100g Light Whipped Cream
- 10ml Natvia No Added Sugar Chocolate Topping
- 1 cup of ice cubes
Now it’s time for blending! Once the choc shake achieves a frappe-like consistency, she pours it into a glass and tops it with a generous amount of light whipped cream and chocolate topping.
Voila, your Maccas fakeaway frappe is done and ready to be served!
According to Bec, the recipe only has 127 calories, compared to the fast-food’s version with over 667 calories.
Now, you can enjoy an ice-cold frappe without feeling guilty! How good is that!
