How To Control Invasive Rats And Mice At Home Without Harming Native Wildlife

We had rats for a while when we had chickens and I searched for a solution to get rid of them. I found a product called Roban which is a bait. While it is still dangerous for most animals, if the baits are used correctly then any animal eating a dead mouse or rat will not be affected by the...

Coles and Woolworths offer a secret free service – But why are some customers unsatisfied?

Not every bakery slices bread, and particularly sourdough breads - they apparently blunt the blades much quicker. Our local baker won't slice sourdough and a not quite so local specialty bread shop doesn't slice any of their loaves. One chain bakery has stores that will only slice sourdough to...

Traveller stirs up controversy after revealing pre-boarding trick - here's what she did

I have had that happen, but not always. On our Jetstar flight the front half rows were asked to board from the front and the rest from the back - that worked just fine too

Traveller stirs up controversy after revealing pre-boarding trick - here's what she did

Depends on your airline I guess. Just came back from the Gold Coast with Jetstar and you definitely wouldn't get away with too many bags or too heavy bags. I didn't see anyone having a problem with overhead space

Say goodbye to limescale buildup! This eco-friendly cleaning tip will make your kettle sparkle IN MINUTES

I've been using lemon in my kettle for a long time now. All I do is add a good squeeze of juice to a full kettle then bring it to the boil. I leave the lid off and let it boil for a while, then drain and rinse - good as new. Even the bottled lemon juice works.

Pets bring joy to aged care residents through the paw-er of companionship

I also agree wholeheartedly with this idea. We recently adopted a new older cat. I'm not sure what happened to her previous owner, I think she was put into a nursing home. The cat rescue organisation wanted her to go to a family with no other animals - that is not us, but we must have been...

Change the way you cook and clean with these 6 handy hacks!

I can never figure our the Summer / Winter setting for ceiling fans. I would have thought they would be the opposite way around. As hot air rises, in winter it would be good to have the warm air blown downwards, and in summer suck the hot air to to ceiling faster.

Find out if YOUR local hospital made the list of Australia's most underperforming public hospitals

How dumb is that! I would have been lost without the rails when I've been in for hip surgery - not so much for keeping me in bed, but they made it much easier to get comfortable.

Aussie seniors at risk of this 'silent killer' - here's what you need to know about aortic stenosis

I have the ICE app on my phone, and even though I haven't needed it in an emergency, it has proved very useful. I've been in hospital a couple of times and every time they ask me what medications I'm taking, and I can just show them the list in the ICE app - much easier than trying to remember...

In defence of self-service checkouts: Consumer expert responds to shopper's open letter

I'm one who prefers self checkout, because I like my groceries packed the way I want them. However, the K-Mart change to their checkouts in the middle of the store makes no sense at all to me. I have often seen something on the way out I might have liked, but I'm not going to line up again...

The inserts are actually a separate item that goes inside a cushion cover. And cushions are what goes on the lounge or chairs or whatever - pillows are definitely only for sleeping on. I have notice quite a few people who call cushions pillows

To me, it depends on how often I'm likely to use whatever I'm purchasing. I can't see the point in paying top dollar on something I will only use occassionally.
