I am a twin and I was often blamed for things my twin did wrong in highschool.
Omg not far from me at all, you were on the opposite side of the park to us. My aunts name was Carol Brannigan, Robyn Brannigan . I'm trying to remember the name of the family who lived in the corner house , it was I think 3 boys and their parents
OMG.. Yep pretty much neighbours. If I remember rightly and is the same house your talking about it was Smith. In highschool, I use to hang with the "boylans" who lived opposite us on other side of park. We were a family of 5 girls & dad always drove the big Chevy Impala & Chevy Belair.

Omg my aunt and mother who good friends with the Boylans , there was a blue house in your street the only blue one nearly opposite the Boylans, my hamily were friends of them .
I was friends with the family I think next door to the Boylans the Bremners and the Murton's , Mari Murton and The Haggetties

Were your sisters older than you

Yeah I was a twin and youngest of 5 girls We lived at top of hedley st, 4th down from corner. We knew the heggarties. Hedley street now has changed a lot, mostly 2 story homes and unit blocks. There is a unit block on my old house lot.
I was only there yesterday and couldn't believe how much it has changed including Riverwood shops.
Omg I was best friends with Trudy and Gay Heggarties. Their older siblings were friends with my aunt . They were a large family. Did you live riverwood end or peakhurst end

I started high school in 1974 it was first form back then

I started at peakhurst high but was only there for 6 months then went to Kingsgrove North High then transferred to Dulwich Hill High which is where I met my husband
I was at Narwee Boys High from 1971 till 1975. My first girlfriend was a fifth former from Beverly Hills Girls High when I started work. We used to call it "Moll Hill" for obvious reasons. 😈

Seems to be a lot of people on here from the Peakhurst/Riverwood area!

EDIT: @Suzanne rose great thread! Brings back memories.

Wow, did you know Narwee Boys high school is no longer there, it was knocked down several years ago and apartments are now there.

Peakhurst end
You would have lived close to the Fowler's.
Do you remember the steep hill going from you down to the actual park. It was like a mountain of grey rocks . I remember at the bottom water would collect and everyone caught tadpoles . Pretty much in front of you was a small steep pathway.

Pretty much all that is somehow flattened out .The park alone has changed so much.

Do you remember the house that had kangaroos in it

I searched the internet for stuff on NBHS and found it had disappeared due to "progress".
Riverwood Primary School was mine - I lived 200 metres away.
And Roselands Shopping Centre! Good and bad memories there. I cried when I heard the fire in 1969 (?) killed all the pets on the top floor. 😭

I remember that happening , it was also around the same time the roof top closed and the cinema closed.

Do you still live in the area

Narwee Boys became co Ed for a couple of years before closing. It became a really bad school, at one stage the principal would walk the streets after school due to on a couple of seperate times fights broke out at the station and students were thrown on the tracks. I knew a teacher there and she said they closed because they couldn't control the students, it became like a school in the Bronx. So it was sold to build housing.

Unfortunately, I live in a place called Melboredom.

And it looks like NBHS hadn't changed since the early 1970s! Most afternoons after school, two combatants would go hammer and tongs near the station in what we called the "Triangle" - a chain link fenced off area the size of an inground swimming pool. Those were the days!

Did the girls have a brother (Brian or Gary?) who used to "bounce" at the Riverwood Hotel aka The Domino? My Dad used to call it the Riverwood Bloodbath but it my watering hole for years. Last time I was there (2007), it was just a dingy pokie den.
