You WON'T believe where this bride put her guests' food: ‘Are they trying to murder their entire wedding?’

Weddings are usually grand affairs — with equally grand costs.

That’s why it’s no surprise when people try unconventional things to lighten the financial load that holy matrimony can often saddle the newlyweds with.

We here at the SDC are all about clever and innovative ways to save money and be frugal, but not if they put people’s health at risk.

Such was the mistake of one bride-to-be who shared her go-around on expensive wedding food, which can reach upwards of $100 per head in Australia.

According to a report, the unnamed bride shared a photo of her horrifying solution. In the photo, pasta, tomatoes, and other pasta salad ingredients are shown floating in a kiddie pool.

Pasta a la bacteria, anyone? Credit: au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/Facebook

‘Wedding food prep day three… 30lbs of pasta salad,’ she wrote.

She added in parentheses: ‘Yes, that’s an inflatable pool.’

Understandably, her post made its rounds on social media and racked up all sorts of criticisms, largely for the safety of the wedding guests.

‘Day three, so presumably the wedding is still a few days away. They will literally kill guests with unrefrigerated pasta salad. Bacillus cereus is no joke!’ said one concerned commenter.

Another agreed: ‘Pasta can kill you once it grows bacteria!’

“Oh my God, ew, what the f***. Are they trying to murder their entire wedding?’ one said in horror. ‘Pasta is so dangerous when not kept properly!’

Bacillus cereus is a microorganism found naturally in soil and in raw and improperly prepared food items.

According to Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, the microbe has a higher risk of contaminating starchy foods like rice and pasta.

Symptoms of exposure to Bacillus cereus are most commonly vomiting and diarrhoea.

Other reactions of dismay poured in as well.

‘Oh that thing my toddlers peed in all summer? It doubles as a serving tray!’, one said in shock.

Another admitted: ‘If I was invited to that wedding and saw this post I would immediately be changing my RSVP to “no”.’ Same here, honestly.

I've cooked for large numbers , bridal showers , baby showers ect.

I start cooking up to 3 days ahead and refrigerate everything.

Get family n friends helping .

And if you can't afford to feed everyone then don't have a reception or party.

Grazing tables are amazing I like to perfect it but honestly you can put what ever you want to onto the table

Below is a few of mine

Suzanne Rose,
Your feasts look wonderful, an absolute credit to you.
Yes, you stated that you start to prepare days ahead, and refrigerate everything.
The other crowd couldn't refrigerate a paddling pool, could they!
I used to cater for big combined family events at our home, and worked hard to have everything done.
At the end of the day, it was always well worth the effort. The memories are the best!
