You won't believe what was in this man’s ear for years...

We all know the old saying, 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away.'
And while we here at the Seniors Discount Club wholeheartedly agree with eating plenty of fruit and veggies to stay healthy, there's one place that an apple definitely does not belong – and that's stuck in one's ear!
Ellis Lloyd Jones, a 24-year-old drag queen from Wales, made a horrifying discovery recently while cleaning out his ears.
He was using a tiny camera to film inside his ear canal when he spotted something white and round lurking deeper inside than he was expecting.
Upon closer inspection, he realised that it was actually a sticker from a Gala apple! And after he realised he hadn't had one in years, it dawned on him just how long the piece of paper had been lodged in his ear,...
Jones shared a video of the stomach-churning discovery with his hundreds and thousands of followers on TikTok. In the clip, you can see him clearing away wax and hair before finally getting to – and removing – the offending fruit sticker.
More than 8.5 million people have watched the video on the platform, and it was no surprise that thousands of them have reacted to the unbelievable discovery.
'But how?!' one woman asked, with hundreds of users liking her comment and sharing her sentiment. Another wrote: 'I genuinely thought you just scooped out your eardrum; that was a roller coaster of emotions!'
Of course, it also drew a slew of hilarious responses, with some joking that the poor man may have been 'eating' apples wrong his whole life…
(Just a heads up before you watch the video: it gets quite icky at the end, so watch at your own risk!)
Luckily for Jones (and anyone else who might be reading this and feeling queasy), getting something like this stuck in your ear is actually quite common – especially among young children who tend to put all sorts of things in their mouths and then occasionally up their noses or ears!
However, it's definitely not something to be taken lightly, as it can cause painful infections or even hearing loss if left unchecked for too long.
There are a few things you can do if you think you (or your grandchild) have something stuck in your ear.
When trying to remove something stuck in your ear, Healthdirect Australia suggests tilting your head to one side. If you have a bug or insect stuck in your ear, you can try to float it out by pouring baby oil in the ear canal, or you can try to wash it out with warm water.
If these methods fail, you shouldn't try to remove the object on your own because you might make things worse. It's not a good idea to poke something like a cotton swab or a matchstick into the ear to remove the foreign object since you risk pushing it deeper in.
You should go to the doctor if the foreign body does not come out of your ear on its own – the same goes whenever you experience ear discomfort, discharge, diminished hearing, or the sensation that something is stuck in your ear.
So here you have it! Even though it's not unusual to have small foreign objects in your ears, it's still important to have them checked frequently to make sure they pose no health risks. Maybe now's a good time to give your doctor a quick call, eh?
