You could save hundreds with Woolworths' new Everyday Extra rewards system!

Loyal Woolworths shoppers, rejoice! The supermarket giant has just launched a new subscription service that could help you save big on your groceries.

Called Everyday Extra, the program is an addition to the existing Everyday Rewards system but offers even more benefits and discounts for customers willing to pay a small monthly fee.

For only $7 per month (or $59 per year, if you prefer to get billed annually), you'll receive 10% off one shop per month at Woolworths and 10% off one shop at BIG W – plus 3 times the Everyday Rewards points on every purchase you make at either store!

That's right, triple the usual amount of points, which means you'll be able to rack up those rewards vouchers even faster.

On top of all that, subscribers will also enjoy exclusive perks like free products, subscriber-only offers and extra points boosters – making it well worth the price of admission for people with certain shopping habits.

In fact, according to Woolworths' estimates, their most engaged customers could save over $400 a year by signing up! We can’t speak to the truthfulness of that claim though, and will have to do the calculations ourselves.

The savings will go a long way towards helping customers deal with the increasing cost of living, according to Hannah Ross, Managing Director of Everyday X.

'Now more than ever, customers are looking for ways to save money on their weekly shop and get the most value each time they shop in our stores or online,' she said.

'With Everyday Extra, we're providing our customers with another way to save on their shop and unlock even more value from our Everyday Rewards program, helping them to save hundreds of dollars a year.'

If you're interested in joining Everyday Extra but don't want to commit just yet, don't worry! Customers who want to test out the upgrade can take advantage of Woolworths's current free trial offer, which lasts for 30 days and can be terminated at any time.

Those who have signed up for Everyday Rewards are the only ones who can take advantage of the Everyday Extra program, and they must keep their membership active in order to keep enjoying the benefits.

When a customer cancels their Everyday Rewards membership, their Everyday Extra subscription is also deactivated.

Is Everyday Extra worth it?

According to Angus Kidman from Finder, if you regularly shop at Woolies or BIG W, Everyday Extra will indeed help you save money. In fact, even he himself signed up for the promo!

'For most shoppers, the 10% discount alone makes Everyday Extra a tempting proposition. If you spend more than $70 in a single grocery shop, the savings will be more than the $7 you pay each month – and you'll get extra points on top of that,' he explained.

On the other hand, he suggested that you get the most out of your Everyday Rewards points by exchanging them for Qantas Points. And even if you're only interested in cashing them in for $10 vouchers, Everyday Extra will get you there faster and could end up saving you money.

'To really maximise your savings, you'd also want to do 1 big monthly shop and apply the 10% discount to that. That's good budget practice anyway,' he advised.

Because of my age I already get the 10% off one shop per month with the free rewards card. If I sign up to the new Extra would that mean I would get an extra 10% off another shop? Does anyone know?

Sign me up!! Every little savings helps. Congratulations to Woolies, well done! 😁💰💰💰✅

Mmmm, I have Woolies insurance and get one 10% discount per month. I wonder if you add another 10% discount to that shop with this program, or if you have to use it on another shop!?
Daresay you can't 'stack' discounts...use on another shop!
I also have Woolworths Car Insurance as well as Woolworths Credit card...so that's 2 x 10% each month.
Being an employee I also get 5% off every shop as well as an additional Team 5% once a month.

Might give it the go for the free trial period and see what I think. I’ve generally been shopping at Coles for the Flybuys, but I do keep an eye on specials on my regular items, so might be time to be a bit more rigorous about that.

They'll be paying you to take the groceries at this rate...😅

because of your age? How does that work?

Do you pick which shop the discount is applied to? Is this also on top of the points boost e-mails I receive, some up to 10X? So another discount if you pay annually? (7x12=84)

criticpat, you are on the ball. Shopped at ALDI yesterday and set a new record - $231. As a batchelor I usually don't spend more than $100/week on groceries. I compared my groceries with Woolies and Coles and discovered that I saved around $60.

I would be interested but only if the 10% saving is an extra one on top of the one that I already get each month. So, for two shops a month with 10% off and extra points it would certainly be worth the yearly fee (which is cheaper than paying monthly).

I think that you're actually paying for your own loyalty to a brand. I would prefer to spread my money across local butchers, green grocers, bakeries, etc to support my local community and then spread across Coles, Aldi and Woolies.

they are good for families with big shops but what about the poor pensioner that live on there own they dont get a show and there would be a lot of us around
Agree! So many ways to save money UNLESS you are single. Once again, it is women who suffer this discrimination most bcz there are more of us than males. We earn less, hv less superannuation and live longer. Three thumbs down already, then the supermarkets punish us by offering great savings if you buy more - but singles do not need or use more, and hv nowhere to store excess purchases. We just need to be, and should be treated fairly.

Local butchers usually hv better meats, and will cut to size for you. Example: Supermarkets only sell in lamb liver /lamb’s fry in 1 kilo lumps, when all you want and need is a small piece for one meal maybe once or twice a year. Liver does not freeze well and who wants that in their freezer for 12-24months? Chicken livers are sold only in 500g, are NOT very clean or fresh, but butchers let me buy 150-200g properly cleaned and definitely fresh, which is perfect.

It only works in their favour, if you go to Coles, Aldi etc and not WOW then they still get yr $7 that month - they are tying you to them = forced loyalty.
I shop WOW for specials and all items that Coles has deleted. As a single pensioner I have to shop specials. So frustrating that Coles is deleting more and more of our staples, replacing with inferior imports or not at all. My Coles has just wiped out all bar 3 conveyor checkouts. Any more changes and I drive to another suburb or quit Coles forever. Same goes for WOW.

I save by shopping at Aldi. Just top up at Woolies, so not interested in Extras
Me too, I have also "done the maths" and found I saved more by doing my main shopping at Aldi and then picking up any extras wherever I can get the best price.
I noticed a while ago someone who thought it wasn't worth shopping at Aldi as she said she only saved $10 a week. Maybe she should have done the maths ($10x52 weeks=$520/year)
nothing to be sneezed at I would have thought!!
Must admit I am lucky because where I shop we have Aldi, Woolies, Coles and Spud Shed all within the same road so makes it easy to shop around.
