The 25-year-old formally announced her engagement on Tuesday evening via Instagram where she posted a photo of her and Kissick embracing with an engagement ring visible on her finger, as well as the caption "Future husband" accompanied with heart and ring emojis.

Kissick, 29, also posted photos of him and his fiancee on Instagram, captioning them with “15/11/2021 I love you @ashbarty".

The couple has kept their relationship private — only appearing sporadically on each other's social media pages.

Before Wimbledon, Garry posted a photo of the couple recreating a photo from the 2019 tournament where he was pictured sitting on his partner's lap.

The tennis star’s long-term boyfriend witnessed her 6-3 6-7 6-3 triumph over Karolina Pliskova in the Wimbledon final from her player’s box – and Barty quickly climbed up into the stands to see him after her match.

The couple then displayed some quick affection as they reunited, with Barty burying her head in her boyfriend's arms.

Barty, who may have appeared to recover from the shock of achieving her childhood dream, broke down once again in the corridors of Wimbledon, burying her head again in Kissick's chest as she sobbed.

Those touching scenes continued for about 15 seconds, revealing just how much the title meant to Barty.

The couple first met in 2016 at the Brookwater Golf Club. In 2017, one year after they first met, Barty and Kissick revealed that they immediately clicked and went public with their relationship when they attended the John Newcombe Awards together.

The 29-year-old aspiring golfer and irrigation technician is a passionate Liverpool supporter and is a part of the PGA Trainee program.

The year 2021 may seem to be Barty's best year yet — both in her sporting career and personal life — as she caps off the year as world No. 1 despite choosing not to compete in the season-ending WTA Tour Finals in Mexico.

Barty withdrew from the WTA Tour Finals in Mexico due to her intention to focus on her preparation for the Australian Open.

“I wanted to let everyone know that I won’t be competing in any further tournaments in 2021, including the WTA Finals in Mexico,” Barty said in a statement.

“It was a difficult decision but I need to prioritise my body and my recovery from our 2021 season and focus on having the strongest pre-season for the Australian summer.”

The 25-year-old athlete joined the ranks of Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams, and Chris Evert by becoming the fifth female to finish three consecutive seasons as the world’s top-ranked player.
