Woolworths shopper's hilariously brutal review of a ready-to-eat meal goes viral

One Woolworths customer is definitely not happy with their purchase of pre-made butter chicken meal from the retailer!

In a hilarious note left for other shoppers, the customer gives the supermarket giant's Coco Earth Butter Chicken and Naan a scathing review, describing their dining experience as "like eating old rope".

The note read: “Sauce OK!! Chicken is like eating old rope.”

“Naan - inedible unless you like eating rubber.” That certainly doesn’t sound appealing!

The disgruntled shopper also added that they had a similar experience with the brand’s $4 Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan product.

An eagle-eyed customer, who was shopping at Woolworths Marrickville Metro, spotted the note and took to Reddit to ask for other people's opinions on the products.

While many users had not yet tried the products, many lauded the customer's approach to voicing their views on the items, saying that reviews like this should be more common in public.

One user wrote: “We need more of this.”

“Can we please normalise this?” another added.

A third chimed in: “The people needed to know, and this shopper delivered.”

“This is amazing, would love to see more of this,” another said.

A Woolworths spokesperson said that the company welcomes customer feedback.

The spokesperson said: “We appreciate all customer feedback on our products and will be passing this on to the supplier.”

“If customers ever have any feedback for our team, we encourage them to reach out to our Contact Centre or fill out the feedback form on our website.”

We can't help but laugh at this customer's brutal honesty and effort to write a note and leave it at the store for everyone to see.

Did you have similar experiences? Better yet, what are your thoughts on this? Do you think reviews like this should be publicised more? Let us know in the comments below! We would certainly rather know whether a product is worth trying before purchasing!

For those of you looking to make your own butter chicken, we recommend checking out this article for a quick and easy recipe (this one doesn’t taste like rubber, we promise ;) ).

Love what she did. As telling customer service she's unhappy doesnt let others know. Ive used alot of frozen dinners and once they are selling ot of them the contents start getting less of meat. Also full of mash potatoes or rice. Not buying anymore.

I too have some ready made meals in the freezer for the days I can't be bothered cooking. I no longer buy store bought ones though as I was too often disappointed. I now use Lite and Easy as they are multiple award winners so you can be assured of the quality.:)

Reaching out to their Contact Centre or filling out the feedback form on their website, can easily be "silenced" or changed by them. The best impact and far-reaching is leaving a note on the product. Well done by that customer. Consumers should do this on all poor-quality products.

These are convenience foods. Not 5 star restaurant ones. It would be nice if they were always great, but you cant get a great meal at a restaurant for $6 plus. Buy them and expect that you get what they are, or dont bother.

I love the Mushroom Ravioli with Truffle that I buy at Woolworths. Yes it is $8.00 but it is enough for both my husband and I in one pack
