wallet try buying a very large chook and meating it. A very large chook will give you 4 serves from the breast, 2 serves from the thighs, two serves from the drumsticks and wings, then there is the stock or soup from the bones. A big family? Double up! Freeze in portion control.

Big deal not everyone buys those chicken. They need to reduce the price of everything. Wwnt shopping and spent $550. Food items, laundry items are ridiculously high. Keep your $1.10 off chooks. That does not help the grocery bills. I shop elsewhere for every day products where they are cheaper.

I know in the greater context this sounds ridiculous, but they're my go-to biscuit with morning coffee and they have increased in price from $1.10 to $1.70 in the past few months. As of this week, shoppers can breathe a sigh of relief, as Woolworths has announced that they’re temporarily reducing the price of their Country Style Roast Chickens to just $10.90–a $1.10 saving–until August 29th.

Matt Harbich, Woolworths’ 'Chief Chook Officer', admitted that this unexpected reduction was aimed directly at helping those struggling with their basic needs amidst the stressful cost of living crisis.

‘We’re excited to drop the price of our roast chickens to $10.90 for a limited time to give our customers some extra value this week,’ Harbich said.

‘We’ve been selling hot roast chickens in our stores since 1960, and they’ve been a firm customer favourite ever since.’

‘Whether it’s for a Sunday roast or a picnic, hot roast chooks continue to grow in popularity with more than 20 million sold in our stores every year.’

Back in 2015, both Woolworths and Coles removed $3 from the price of their roast chickens, bringing it down to just $8. The price then stayed at its lowest point for three years before both supermarkets raised it by $1 in 2018.

Although this discount is the first time the chickens have had prices slashed in years, Coles is still at the same price point–selling their RSPCA Approved Whole Chicken Roast at $12.

Woolworths did not only lower the price of their popular Country Style Roast Chickens, but they also reportedly lowered the price of more than 450 products as part of their seasonal Prices Dropped for Spring campaign.

Natalie Davis, Woolworths Supermarkets’ Managing Director said the store understands the plight of many Aussies.

'Our research shows that customers are using more [ways] to save on their grocery shops…'

'With this in mind, we looked at how we could create healthier meal ideas…' she said.

I think it's a bit of a stretch callings these birds chooks, more like baby chickens buy a fresh one from Aldi much bigger for half the price and yes you'll have to cook it but the cost is minimal. Works out $6.50 in Air Fryer. Do the math 6.50 12DOLLARS MMMMMMM.
