Woolies shopper receives EXTRA groceries in her home delivery, at the expense of another shopper

A Woolies customer was overjoyed that she was able to score steak, milk and ready-made meals for free in her home delivery order.
All proud, she shared her stash on social media – however, it seems that not everyone was excited and happy about her stroke of luck.
Sharing on the popular Facebook group Markdown Addicts Australia, the happy shopper revealed that Woolies accidentally included several extra items in her home delivery order, which included packs of beef and lamb stead, two litres of milk, and a few ready-made meal buys.
“All free!” she wrote on her Facebook post, along with photos of her grocery haul. “So looks like steak tonight!”
Woolworths supermarkets have a policy that allows customers to keep the groceries that have been mistakenly added to their bags or sent to the wrong address, in a bid to reduce unnecessary food waste.
Meaning, the extra bags that the shopper received would not be accepted back by Woolies after it was delivered to her address, and she can keep them all.
While many applauded the shopper on her surprise haul, others felt bad for the customer who missed out on their items. Credit: Facebook.
While there are many fellow shoppers who were happy for the lucky customer, some expressed their concern and felt bad for the shopper who "lost" their items.
"I feel for the person who was inconvenienced by not receiving their shopping," one user wrote.
Another agreed and added that the same thing happened to her. But instead of being lucky to receive extra items, she lost her essential items. “Two bags missing, all fridge and frozen, I had no milk for my daughter. It was a complete pain in the backside," she said.
“So – and I say this without judgement to you at all – while it’s awesome for you, another family has missed out.”
Thankfully, a spokesperson for Woolworths clarified that any shoppers who receive an incomplete order will have their items appropriately replaced.
The family who lost their grocery items may be inconvenienced for some time, but rest assured that the supermarket is keen to get them their groceries back as soon as possible.
Woolworths customers are encouraged to contact the supermarket if they ever experience an issue with their online deliveries.
