Woman’s drastic transformation wows social media — “I am so proud of you!”
A woman's drastic body transformation has left TikTok users in shock.

TikTok user Telsah Kaufmann, known on the platform as @telsah123, revealed that she used to weigh 136kg when she was 19 years old, showing off her "incredible transformation" in a series of videos.

The young woman admitted in her now-viral video — which racked up more than 8.9 million views and more than 17,000 comments — that she had become “tired” of being “just the ugly fat friend” before sharing a glimpse of her weight loss journey.

The TikTok community was quick to comfort her as many users assured her that she was never "ugly" and that they were happy with her lifestyle change.

Telsah said that her motivation for her transformation was to be "healthy" and to feel confident, noting that her weight had stopped her from accomplishing "many things".

She then revealed that she had undergone a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy — which costs about $8000 — in September 2018 in a bid to "change her life forever" as she was afraid to "fail again" after multiple attempts of trying to lose weight in the past.

Telsah explained: “For those you are unfamiliar with this surgery, this is a tool to help guide you with a lifetime guidance of proper portion control and eating habits.”

“I knew it was a huge change and needed to be something I stayed 100 per cent dedicated too."

“I was so scared and felt so alone! I had more than enough support from family members but still didn’t have the confidence in myself.”

The young woman claims that since undergoing the surgery and training regularly, her focus has shifted to making her life better rather than just feeling sorry about herself.

Telsah, who had been hesitant to share her story at first, says that she's now open to sharing her experience in hopes that she will inspire others and guide those who are seeking guidance.

“It sucks to feel alone, but I promise you, you aren’t alone!” she said, emphasising that despite the mental and physical hardships she went through, she would "do it all over again" to become a better person.

“Words can’t describe the feeling I feel, it’s honestly the best feeling in the world looking back and seeing all the accomplishments I’ve overcome not only physically but mentally.”

Telsah has since become an inspiration to more than 22.000 people who follow her on the social media platform.

One TikTok user wrote: “I am so proud of the change you worked for. You’re amazing. Always.”

“Hard work & dedication pays off,” another wrote.

A third chimed in: “I’m inspired!!! Holy GORGEOUS! (you were beautiful before too).”

Congratulations to Telsah but I would warn people against dietary operations. All the people I know who have had them end up weighing more than their pre-op weight 6 months later. I have lost 56kgs in 2 years just by altering my diet. I can't exercise because I am a paraplegic so it all depended on food choices. Everyone who tries can do it.

... you are great. More young people like you and we would have no problems with sicknesses due to obesity. Congratulations.

I don't agree with weight loss surgery, too many friends have ended up very unwell from it or having to have it reversed. Good luck to this young lady. I would prefer a sensible diet and a workout at the gym if you are able to, even at my age in my late '60's. They say it is never too late.
