Winter must-have! Stay cosy and warm with this $29 Kmart item

It’s never too early to start stocking up on warm clothing, especially since winter garments tend to increase in price as the cold season draws nearer.

So, if you’re looking for wardrobe staples that look stylish and keep you warm without breaking the bank? Look no further than Kmart!

Customers have recently been sharing their affordable hauls from Kmart on social media, sharing items with low prices and budget-friendly wardrobe essentials for every season.

And it looks like the popular retail giant is at it again, offering Aussies the perfect fashion accessory for winter that’s been labelled ‘cute’, ‘handy’ and ‘perfect’ by shoppers.

The item? The Kmart Oversized Puffer Vest from their new active range.

According to the product description, the material is made with nylon and taslan fabric. It features a high neck, sleeveless puffer design and oversized fit, and has two side welt pockets perfect for keeping your essentials safe while you’re out and about.

The $29 garment has only just hit the shelves in stores across the country, but already it is proving to be a hit with shoppers who love a bargain.

A TikTok user and fashion influencer who goes by @tinayahhhhhhh online said that she’s ‘obsessed’ with the vest and stated that they’re the perfect accessory for winter.

Chelsea Williamson, another TikTok user, also praised the item and shared a video of her trying one on in stores. ‘Kmart is in a major fashion era,’ she said in the video.

Many were quick to respond to the videos, labelling the puffer vests as ‘a must-have’.

Men can also cop this trendy accessory; however, it doesn’t come in an oversized fit. Kmart’s Puffer Vest can be found under the ‘Men’s Jackets & Coats’ category in the retailer’s online store, and it retails for $20.

The product description also states that it’s made from nylon and taffeta fabric, and it features a high neck, sleeveless, quilted and puffer design with zip front closure and two side welt pockets.

Both the oversized vest for women and the regular puffer vest for men are machine washable, according to the instructions provided on the care label.

The puffer vest is a take on the popular puffer jacket. In other stores, it can retail anywhere between $99 to more than $370. However, the surge in price might be because of its surge in popularity on social media.

More than that, the puffer vest is a versatile piece of clothing that has active insulation. They keep your core warm, and due to their breathable fabric and sleeveless design, they prevent you from overheating while you’re outside.

Have you ever wondered why winter clothes are so expensive?

Most winter clothes, such as jackets and long coats, are complex products. It takes skill to design, manufacture, and curate the fabrics that go into it. The cost of labour isn’t cheap either, as it takes craftspeople who really know what they’re doing to make wearable winter clothes.

Plus, the workmanship and the materials alone make it more difficult to create than summer clothing, and winter clothing consumes more resources too.

Not to mention they need to be able to perform their basic function, which is to keep you dry and warm while you’re out shovelling snow from your driveway.

And then there’s the matter of layering different textiles, such as zippers, pockets, and trim, to make it look attractive to the eyes.

Investment pieces, such as wool coats or padded jackets, can last very long but also sell for a higher price. So, if you’re looking for something budget-friendly that won’t compromise design, capability, and wearability, Kmart’s puffer vest might be the best way to go.

My daughter purchased the puffer vest from kmart last year and loved until her brother starting wearing it abd lived it too. She went out and purchased another one.

So I can vouch for the puffer vest.
It's warm, looks good and washes well in the washing machine

If I was going to buy one (which I'm not) I would buy a men's one. Why would I want to spend an extra $9 for what is essentially the same thing? Why does female clothing always have to be more expensive?

why do the majority of makers insist on everything short in length?....i don't buy, though liking a style, simply because it's not long enough.....copycat syndrome.
