Whittaker's launches new Dark Ghana chocolate in Australia!

There's something about dark chocolate that Australians just can't resist. Maybe it's the rich, intense flavour, or the fact that it's the perfect balance of sweet and bitter. Whatever the reason, we just can't get enough of the stuff.

That's why it's no surprise that chocolate manufacturers have been taking their products Down Under. With Australia's warm climate and passionate chocolate-loving population, the country is a perfect market for sweet treats.

And as more and more Australians are becoming health-conscious, they are looking for indulgences that are not only delicious but also made with quality ingredients.

In response to the demands of Australian dark chocolate lovers, renowned chocolate producer Whittaker's Chocolate has recently introduced a ‘Dark Ghana’ flavour, the newest product in its gold block line.

Dark Ghana is made from the best, hand-picked Ghanaian cocoa beans which are batch roasted to produce a deliciously bitter 72% dark chocolate.

With its quality preserved from "bean to bar", the brand claims that the beans used for the Dark Ghana are "ethically, fairly, sustainably produced and 100 per cent Rainforest Alliance Certified, with no Palm Oil", assuring its customers that they are consuming a cruelty-free and eco-friendly treat.

Whittaker’s CEO Matt Whittaker said: “Whittaker’s produces Good Honest Chocolate that is adored by chocolate lovers around Australia, which is why we’re thrilled to bring such a classic yet beautifully bitter 72 per cent dark chocolate to market."

“From our family to yours, we know Dark Ghana will be a welcome household staple for Australians who enjoy and appreciate the finest quality, premium dark chocolate.”

The brand also said that it is confident that Dark Ghana will raise the bar for dark chocolate connoisseurs, saying that whether they consume it as it is or use it as a baking ingredient, chocolate lovers will definitely enjoy its high-quality texture and flavour.

Customers who are eager to get their hands on this new decadent treat can purchase their blocks at major supermarkets Woolworths and Coles and select independent retailers for $6.50.

What is it about dark chocolate that we love so much? Is it the taste? The health benefits? Or simply the fact that it's so darn delicious?

Here's a look at why Australians can't get enough of dark chocolate:

The Taste

There's no denying that dark chocolate has a unique taste that is both rich and intense. For many of us, this is what makes it so addictive! The bitterness of dark chocolate is perfectly balanced by the sweetness, making it the perfect treat for those with a sweet tooth.

Plus, dark chocolate is incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of recipes, from cakes and cookies to savoury dishes like mole sauce. No matter how you enjoy it, dark chocolate is always a delicious treat.

The Health Benefits

Not only is dark chocolate delicious, but it also comes with a host of health benefits. For starters, dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants, which can help to protect your cells from damage.

It also contains flavonoids, which have been linked to improved heart health. And if that wasn't enough, dark chocolate has also been shown to boost brain power and improve cognitive function.

So, not only does dark chocolate taste great, but it's also good for you!

We would go every year to Echuca with our caravan. Love the town and hearing the paddle boats tooting as they go up the river. I know the Chocolate Company Shop and they give out free samples. YUMM.
