As a kid I had a very important job. I used to sit in the middle on the bench seat and if we were ever driving at night Dad gave me the job of pressing the dipswitch when there was an oncoming car. I also had to press it again when the car had passed to put up the full beam.... or even the headlight dipswitch on the floor.
