I used to go every year when I was little and even as a teenager .

I loved the rides and my favourite was the Large Ferris wheel and the Ghost train both equal.

I loved the events in the stadium .

Always got a Cupie doll on a stick every year and these I had hanging all around my bedroom wall .

Favourite bags was the bertie bag and Cadbury bag.

Favourite food item had to be The Pluto Pup

But now it's soooo expensive just to get inside the gates cost alot.

It should be at least free to enter. Council makes enough just off the vendors inside.

I really loss interest after it moved from Moore Park to Homebush . It just wasn't the same

I'm a very bad Aussie! I've never been to any of the Royal Shows in any state. I don't do crowds, they give me panic attacks. So I've never had a show bag of any description. I don't think I've missed out on anything much over the years though I would have liked to see a woodchop other than on tv. ;) :)

It was always a good day out. The excitement that built up the days before.

The crowds was the only bad part.

It was when the country came to the city and all the showings were really cheap , it was away for companies to get their samples out there.
My grandmother had told me stories of how the bags were originally free

I have so many good memories but as time went on like everything else it became very commercialised and prices went through the roof 😥

The show bags were called sample bags and in the bag pavilion at Moore Park every man and his dog was there. But I do remember taking my kids there until they literally priced themselves out of the family pay packet.

I am with you on this .. Although I did take my kids to the Canberra Show for a number of years AND what did I get ... Well, the kids got show bags and rides .. while I got the flu again. It happening every year so when the kids left home I never went to show ever again. .. and I didnt miss anything.. So Ricci you are NOT a bad Aussie, just one with more grey matter than most .. Hope your Easter is going great .. from Vet543...

Well that would rather take the fun out of it wouldn't it? I expect you need the whole show experience for them to be special.
You do , Online show bags are good for those who maybe forgot a bag. Honestly you could buy triple the items that are in the bags from the supermarket and still save apart from the toy and gadget bags
