What is your pet peeve?

G’day, members! I hope you’re all having a lovely day so far. 😄

We thought we’d kick off the week with a bit of a laugh (or maybe a grumble!). Let’s talk pet peeves—those little things that get under your skin.

Here’s mine: Trying to remember yet another password... or worse, resetting it! For some reason, I always forget mine, and when I finally reset them, I almost always get this message: 'Your new password can’t be the same as the previous one.' 🤦‍♂️ Anyone else feel my pain? And, of course, every site seems to need a different password too!

Now, it’s your turn! What’s a small thing that gets on your nerves? Could be something silly or just one of those things that gets you every time. Drop your pet peeve in the comments—let’s see if we’re all in the same boat! 😄

At my age all sorts. The little thing that bugs me is when my weekend newspaper comes, although it is in plastic wrap, the person who drops it really does drop it - anywhere but my cement path or outside my Unit. No, they specialise in putting it on the grass, which inevitably is wet of a morning. If it's raining then the water gets into the packaging and I have a very wet paper. That's my gripe for the week.

My pet peeve would be the general decline in "customer service" ... McDonalds would rather you speak to a machine than a person.
Retail assistants have forgotten how to smile and speak to customers.
Oh ... and don't get me started on telephone customer service wait times !!!!

This isn't a small thing. I loathe ageist comments. I also get annoyed when people think because you're 'retired' you sit around drinking tea and eating biscuits. Many retirees still contribute to society, whether it's a Board position, volunteering, mentoring, caring for children or care givers for their partners and there are many more valuable contributions, not mentioned. While it may be presumed that retirees sleep in, many are physically active at daybreak as they're going for a run or walk, doing yoga or pilates. When people use colloquial slang to converse with retirees when the slang is not their venacular, I find that offensive.

Toilet Paper. Over or under. I'm an under person. Hate it when someone comes to my house and changes it.
When our second son was five that discussion occurred at my mother’s house. Master 5 entered the conversation by stating “it’s really simple Grandma, the toilet paper comes over the top so you don’t get shit on the wall if you need more paper!” In honour of our son the toilet paper has a designated position.

I have two “small” language that almost drive me batty.
Try and is my first issue because the term should be try to. The other problem is when people are condescending because of your situation “how are we today sweetie?” “ Oh my goodness, are you expecting lots of visitors because you’ve packed such a lot of food in your trolley?”
I suppose they mean will with these and other similar comments but it makes my blood boil.
