What are you most thankful for this year?

Hey, everyone!

Can you believe Christmas Eve is already upon us? 🎄 I (Vella) honestly can’t wrap my head around how fast this year has flown by! As I sit back and reflect on everything that’s happened, I’m filled with so much gratitude. It’s been a roller-coaster ride, full of surprises, but here we are—still strong, connected, and moving forward together. What started as a small corner of the internet has blossomed into a truly special community, and I have each of YOU to thank for that. Your support has meant the world, and because of you, we get to keep this journey going. 🥹

Now, before I get all emotional, I’d love to know: What are you most thankful for this year? It could be something big or a small moment that made your year. Share with me in the comments below. Let’s spread some gratitude as we close out the year!

Two utterly magical moments in 2024 stand out for me.
Last New Year I discovered the joy of flying across the Spencer Gulf at the controls of a Cessna.
Then in July I joined the SDC and discovered a great new family of friends. And a long-lost brother.

I've had many things to be thankful for but the top of my list is my grandson's strength .

My Grandson was born on the 2nd of November at 12 weeks early. He was only 1kg 40 grams. He was doing so well and Doctors were surprised at how quick he was gaining weight and being able to breath on his own.

We had a major set back when he caught a virus two weeks ago , he gave up breathing as he became too tired. He was put on life support and his parents were told he may not make it and they needed to take hour by hour.
He is now awake more and was taken off the life support. He is still on oxygen and is still tube fed. But he is responding and he now weighs 2kg 300grams

So I'm thankful for the fight in him and I'm very thankful to everyone who has been praying 🙏 and there has been alot who are praying daily.

This is our Grandson on Saturday, my daughter managed to get a photo while they were changing his tubes

I so want to forget 2024. Car accident in Orange and a heart operation for my husband that ended in a severe invasive bacteria ruining eleven months of his life. I thank all the medical staff and his will to live to be able to have our family together this Christmas. The way our daughters came together to get us through this difficult time is a wonderful memory that I will cherish

The only highlight in 2024 was that I went to my country of birth,Holland, with my son to get to see my mother for the last time, as she passed away a month ago. Other than that I would like to forget 2024 asap, my marriage after 20 years broke up, I have got 3 hernias and I got diagnosed with cancer

This year saw us move house from a situation we weren’t enjoying to one we love with a few hurdles In the middle. I had surgery on both feet & have recovered well from that. But best of all is sharing the year with our gorgeous family in particular our 2 beautiful grandsons. Can’t get much better than that! Looking forward to what 2025 has in store for us 😀❤️

Hi Suzanne lovely to see little Leo and know he is doing so well God Bess him!
All the best to you and family and still saying prayers for a full recovery.
Happy Christmas to you all

Hi🙂, I'm most thankful for my caring, kind, devoted, loyal, loving and compassionate children. My children are my full time carers, despite their illnesses and challenges they are always there for me, and without them I wouldn't be alive. I'm completely bedbound now, so they do everything for me. They are my Angels 😇 😇🥰 and I adore them. ❤
