What’s one fashion trend you proudly rocked back in the day?

Hello, members! It’s always a joy to start the day with you all. I hope your week has been kind, but if it’s thrown a few curveballs, know you’re in good company—we’re all in this together! ;)

Yesterday, I took a little trip down memory lane, flipping through old photo albums, and wow… the fashion trends really were something! From ripped pants to shoulder pads that could take flight, I was serving looks—or so I thought. 😂 There’s nothing quite like looking back at the styles we once rocked with pride. But honestly, some of them still hold a special place in my heart!

So, what were your go-to fashion staples back in the day? Did you embrace the iconic mullet, rock a power suit with shoulder pads, or swear by neon everything?Even better—if you have an old photo of yourself in your finest (or funniest) fashion moments, we’d love to see it! Let’s celebrate the styles that made us who we are today. Drop your throwback memories below!

How about the cork heels, 3 or 4 inches high. Amazing we could walk, and not have a massive fall as well! Not to forget the jeans, called “Staggers”. So tight, you had to lay down on the bed, and literally needed a coat hanger to zip them up. The tighter the better! Then the trendy Wrangler check shirt to match. I still laugh when I think about it today. Gezabbel.

Hot Pants and knee high boots or white socks. Coming from the UK in 1967 where it was very 'mod' fashion, I shocked prim and proper Melbourne along with my mini skirts. They were nothing like the short skirts which reveal everything, worn by young women today including the vagina revealing gym gear some wear out shopping. They came just above the knee and not a knicker in sight. I was warned when interviewed for a position as a high school teacher - not to wear anything which showed my knees unless shorts for teaching sport. Jeans were forbidden then too. It really was a culture and "morals" shock. I was aged 24, married and a mother.

I loved my cork platform shoes, I could walk around the playground & not end up with wet feet. And flares in red and lime green. I’ve noticed flares making a comeback & think how ghastly they look. I used to love scrunchies & still use them when putting my hair up. We all loved our mini skirts but they were so modest compared to today’s outfits. I certainly wouldn’t want to go back there.

I had a few…

Black hot pants with black boob tube, over the knee black boots and my dad’s leather jacket - I wore that leather jacket with just about everything and everywhere.

Black string bikini, (that did not leave much to the imagination), with Indian sandals and pink heart shape sunnies, big floppy straw hat

Navy and white spotted micro mini with cork platform shoes - mum covered a pair of my knickers in similar material, it was that short…I loved it

Mine were culottes, just below the knees! Different tops etc., legs too big for miniskirts and the boss banned trousers, plus I hated dresses! I once was given a navy dress with its own necklace sewn on , and I had brisn shoes and gloves and hat forchurch, red would have been so much better, but on my salary of £10 pew week, I was short on buying anything! Those were the days!

I wore a pair of butcher-striped bell bottoms with high-heeled boots and a paisley shirt with a high collar. These outfits set me apart from many in my area and shocked a few fathers when I called to take their daughters out to the pictures.

high heels and short skirts, wear midi heels and skirts even today I am 71
I too remember the mini skirts and stiletto heels. Of course we also had the High hair styles too. I can't believe how short I wore my skirts! That was when I was about 35 or so but now I'm 89. Irt was very comfortable and I didn't feel the winter cold even in England.
