Weddings are a special event in people's lives. It is a day when two people come together to pledge their love and commitment to one another in front of their family and friends.
For most couples, the wedding ceremony marks the beginning of their beautiful journey that will last a lifetime. Some of them even go to great lengths and spend lavishly during this special day.
And what is a wedding without a wedding cake?
The wedding cake is the centrepiece of every wedding ceremony. It is a symbol of love, happiness and togetherness. It is one of the things that everyone will remember long after the wedding is over.
But, what if everyone remembers your wedding cake for all the wrong reasons?
Just take a look at this bride who was heavily criticised after posting a photo of her 'embarrassing' wedding cake on Facebook.

Social media users were quick to point out that the cake, which featured two sizable Adirondack chairs perched on top and was coated in wavy white icing, looked inappropriate for a wedding.
While the majority of people felt that the chair topper was much too big for the cake, the chocolate icing was the real problem. Read on if you have a strong stomach (you’ve been warned).
The cake was finished with chocolate dregs that were said to resemble 'poo' and 'diarrhoea'.
One user wrote: 'This literally looks like they’d had diarrhoea and this was the result when they got up.'
'Did anyone love this couple enough to pull them aside to save them from this embarrassment of a cake? They could have gotten a sheet cake and put the chairs on that, and be 110% better,' another asked.
A third chimed in: 'The result looks like when the lid falls off the shaker and the contents goes everywhere.'
Others find humour in the design of the cake, with one person joking: 'Hey, remember when we got the s**ts sitting by the lake? Yeah, good times, let’s put that on our wedding cake.'
No one seemed to genuinely enjoy the cake, despite some people's best efforts to be friendlier.
One comment read: 'The idea is cute. Execution not so much.'
'If they took away the chocolate and smoothed out the cake it would be kinda cute,' another recommended.
Another added: 'If it was just the chairs, and not all that other junk, it’d be cute. And of course, the cake needs to be frosted properly.'
We understand that not everyone has an eye for aesthetics and that the couple may be trying to spend as little money as possible on their special day by celebrating it as simply as they can.
What matters is that they enjoyed their special day together - a feat that no one can take away from them.
