Want a spotless home? Here's what a professional-level deep clean REALLY looks like

For those of us who're interested in keeping our homes tidy, there is one task that's more important than all the rest: a deep clean.

Although we should try to keep up with some regular cleaning, it's just not possible for most of us to give the same amount of attention as a thorough deep cleaning does every few months. So you've probably been wondering what's really involved...

Well, don't worry, because professional cleaner Kacie has shared everything we need to know! She runs The Big Clean Co in Melbourne, and she says that a real deep clean involves doing specific tasks you don't usually come across in everyday housekeeping.

Here are Kacie’s insider tips on how to deep clean like a professional:

Use a lot more products than normal

According to Kacie, whenever she and her team of professional cleaners do a deep clean, they tend to use a lot more products than usual. Also, they wear out their tools more quickly.

Give surfaces longer 'dwell time'

To get a truly thorough cleaning, according to Kacie, products need more 'dwell time', which means you have to let them sit and 'marinate' on the surface for longer.

The pro cleaner also said that they need more 'agitation' (which means scrubbing extra hard!) to get rid of marks and stains that just won't go away.

Change mop water multiple times

When it comes to mopping the floor, Kacie also highlighted the importance of regularly changing your mop water.

Moreover, Kacie also stressed the importance of paying attention to places that aren't usually taken care of, such as the space under the fridge and the freezer.

There’s also dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and washing of various surfaces around the house, a, window sills, frames, blinds and drapes, as well as the steam cleaning of carpets and rugs.

Kacie also advises avoiding costly sprays & cleaners, which are generally packed full of chemicals. Instead, she recommends opting for less-costly but surprisingly effective dish soap!

After all, why waste your money on something when simpler (and cheaper) options are right under your nose?
Key Takeaways

  • A deep clean is different from a general clean and should be done every three months to keep your home neat and free of dirt and grime.
  • It involves doing cleaning tasks you don't typically think to do, using a lot more products than normal, giving products longer 'dwell time' on surfaces, and changing mop water multiple times.
  • Don't waste money on pricey cleaning sprays and creams, as dishwashing detergent is a good alternative and can be used in a myriad of ways in your home.
We hope these tips can help you, members! Happy cleaning!

I use Nifti on practically everything, it’s the best product I have ever used, cleans benches beautifully, even removed marks on the carpet, best product ever ❤️

Real Estate offices preferred my company because we deep cleaned, and made the premises as new. Payment came out of the bond money, and I can tell you, there wasn't much left for the previous tenants. Now I have home help, and they clean softly, aaagh!!!

What is the best way to clean industrial carpet which is glued to the concrete, if anyone knows I would be very grateful. I just vacuum every few days but would love to clean it properly.l
