Want a clean bathtub without any scrubbing? Try this DIY cleaning solution!

The traditional, hands-and-knees approach to cleaning a bathtub is such a bothersome way to get the job done. Bending down and scrubbing from left to right... It's a real pain in the back!

The task of scrubbing a filthy bathtub may not sound like anyone's idea of a fun time, but it must be done anyway. After all, what could be worse than scrubbing a filthy bathtub? Taking a bath in one. Yuck…

A mum we're all familiar with (if you've been reading our stories for some time now) is here again to share one of her household tricks that makes cleaning, and daily life in general, so much easier and more bearable.

Chantel Mila is a mum-of-two from Melbourne, and she has made a name for herself on social media by sharing helpful household tips and tricks.

When it comes to cleaning the bathroom, particularly the bathtub, she understands that it can feel like hard work sometimes, but it doesn't have to be!

Using a DIY cleaning solution, you no longer have to bend down and tire yourself scrubbing away all the soap scum and ugly rings around your bathtub. You can even take your time relaxing on the lounge while it does all the work for you! It's that good.

And you don't have to be concerned about your health because this cleaning solution contains no dangerous or toxic chemicals at all.

Here’s what you will need:
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ¼ cup dishwashing liquid
Yes, you read that right! You only need these two items, which are pretty common in every household and supermarket.

To clean your bathtub using the DIY solution, here are the steps to follow:

First, mix the two ingredients (half a cup of warm white vinegar with a quarter of a cup of dishwashing liquid) in a glass together. You can use any dish soap you prefer. Here, Chantel used one from Nontre, which is an Australian-owned brand well-known for its non-toxic and natural products.

When you have finished combining these two ingredients thoroughly, apply the resulting mixture to your bathtub, especially the affected areas, and allow the cleaning solution to sit there for around 15 minutes.

According to the home cleaning guru, the vinegar and the dish soap cuts through stubborn soap scum and rings on the bathtub.

After enough time has passed, simply rinse away the solution to reveal a sparkling clean bathtub! We told you, you don't even have to do most of the work…

Thousands of fellow home cleaning enthusiasts have seen Chantel's video on Instagram, and many of them commented that they were impressed with the hack.

Some of them even said that after seeing the clip, they were going to try it!

'Love this; thank you so much for sharing!' one user wrote in the comments section. A second one agreed and added, 'This looks so great; that soap looks so luxe!'

It might seem like a scary, overwhelming, or even back-breaking job to clean your bathtub, but it shouldn't be. We wish you a happy (and safe) bathroom cleaning, folks!

I will try this today. Hopefully it works. I hate cleaning the kids ( 37 year old son) bathroom upstairs with my son being a builder. I tell them to clean it as I have my own bathroom but either never gets done or not done good enough.
If it works I can say to them I worked hard cleaning their bathroom🤭

I just tried this and it's amazing ! It actually works. My upstairs bath had so many brown stains from me bleaching the tiles and bleach running down plus with my son's daily showers after working in the building trade.

I warmed the bleach for 40 seconds in microwave then added detergent. Left on the bath for 20 minutes then got a sponge and rubbed it in again and left on for another20 minutes then rinsed off.
No scrubbing , I'm going to try this on tiles next.

Love it when hacks actually work

It works a treat on the shower too. I discovered this recently. It is my all round bathroom cleaner.
