There's something comforting about a classic treat that's been around for decades. Maybe it's the simplicity of the recipe or the fact that it reminds us of our childhood. Whatever the reason, we can't help but love these nostalgic goodies.
Take, for example, the Violet Crumble - a delicious chocolate block that has been produced in the country since 1913. The recipe for this treat has remained unchanged and is still as delicious as ever.
We also know the chocolate block for its characteristic honeycomb toffee centre, which is crumbly covered in a layer of compound chocolate.
But, did you know that Menz, the company that produces the Violet Crumble, has recently announced a new flavour for the beloved treat?
You read that right, folks! The chocolate block has had its biggest change in more than a century, receiving a 'fruity twist'.

The popular honeycomb that everyone knows and loves will still be featured in Violet Crumble's Raspberry Twist. Instead of milk chocolate, the bite-sized pieces include white chocolate that has been tinted pink by adding raspberry extract.
Menz CEO Phil Sims said: 'We’re always on the hunt for new, exciting ways people can enjoy Violet Crumble and we think fans are going to love this new fruity twist on the classic.'
'Like chocolate and honeycomb, raspberry and white chocolate is an iconic flavour combo and we’re delighted to welcome it to the Violet Crumble family just in time for spring.'
Menz Violet Crumble Raspberry Twist will exclusively be sold at Woolworths and comes in 130g packs for $5.
It should also be noted that Violet Crumble's most recent variations include Caramel and Dark chocolate flavours.
There's something special about the treats we grew up with. The flavours are familiar and comforting, and we can't help but love them just the way they are. But that doesn't mean we're opposed to change. In fact, we think this fruity twist sounds tasty! It's a small change that makes a big difference, and it's one that we welcome with open arms. The classic Violet Crumble will, of course, still be available.
So, next time you feel nostalgic for a classic treat, don't be afraid to give it a modern twist. You might just be surprised at how much you enjoy it!
