With that being said, we have some big news for pizza fans here in Australia – Pizza Hut has just been acquired by one of the largest franchise operators in the world.

Allegro took control of the franchise in Australia in 2016, where it conducted a massive restructuring before offering the business up for sale.

But for those wondering about the future fate of this beloved pizza chain, fear not – this change promises to bring exciting developments and quite possibly some delectable new offerings on the menu.

Excited about its ‘entrée’ into the Australian market, Flynn Restaurant Group Co-Chief Operating Officer Ron Bellamy has praised Pizza Hut Australia's incredible track record, which includes an impressive 51 consecutive months of positive same-store sales growth.

With the acquisition of the master franchisee licence for all 260 Pizza Hut restaurants in Australia, Flynn Restaurant Group will work closely with the local Pizza Hut teams to ensure the continued success of the nostalgic pizza chain.

‘Simply put, the more we've learned about this business, the more excited we've become about it,’ Ron Bellamy exclaimed.

‘Our immediate focus will be to work with the team to determine how we can best leverage our broader scale and capabilities to support the continued success trajectory of Pizza Hut in Australia.’

With an already vast portfolio of over 2,350 restaurants in the US, including 926 Pizza Huts, 441 Applebee's, 379 Arby's, and 282 Taco Bells, Flynn Restaurant Group knows a thing or two about running a successful restaurant chain.

Local Pizza Hut franchisees are set to benefit significantly from this new partnership, as Flynn aims to offer extensive support and resources to enhance the Pizza Hut experience for customers Down Under.

Pizza Hut Australia CEO Phil Reed expressed his excitement about the recent acquisition: ‘Flynn is the premier franchise group in the restaurant industry, with a reputation for excellence and empowering their franchise owners.’

'We are excited to bolster our growth trajectory, supported by Flynn's investment backing and unmatched franchisee expertise, so that we can continue to deliver world-class Pizza Hut experiences for our customers down under,’ he added.

Pizza Hut first opened its doors in Australia in 1970 in Belfield, Sydney's southwest. Over the years, it has won the hearts (and stomachs) of Aussies with its iconic flat-topped red roof, all-you-can-eat pizza, salads, and desserts.

While the acquisition of Pizza Hut Australia has received Foreign Investment Review Board approval, it is still subject to consent by Pizza Hut’s global brand owner.

The acquisition is set to be completed by the end of June 2023.

Well it is hoped that they know their business because , the last Pizza hut is closed and Tako bell went broke in Townsville. Will we see new outlets opening up here, unlikely, as the American model is to only operate where there are large profits to be made.
And again what works well in the USA generally falls flat in Australia

Pizza Hut was NOT an Australian company, the naming rights in Australia were licensed to an Australian company. Like Dominos, MacDonalds or any major junk food store in this country. The Aust Co. franchised to mums and dad operators.

We have plenty of Pizza huts in Sydney and a few Taco bells which my son visits regularly.

I think only pizza hut restaurants closed but all Pizza hut takeaways are open

Nothing iconic about junk food either
Another Aussie company sold to an off shore buyer.

Every time we buy pizza my family say it's not as good as mine.
I do all the toppings how my family love it and bases are made perfect.

I have posted my pizza recipe before . For those who love pizza give it a go you will be surprised how easy and good it is

I thought Pizza Hut was American, then Australia started the franchise business.
There's Starbuck ... but it's expensive here.

These franchised restaurants are very well for the firm that owns them but not so good for the franchisees as they have to toe the line whereas if the big boss says to reduce staff they have to do the extra themselves. All-American franchised businesses have to toe the corporate line, My closest friend's son owns 3 Mcdonald's franchises & he or his wife have to go to meetings anywhere in the world at their own expense plus any special offers that the branch advertises come out of their own pocket as well, Mind you they live a good life on their profit. With both sons at UNI in Brisbane with the courses paid for by the family so no hex debt for those boys. but a really busy life for their parents.

I must say, this news about Pizza Hut getting a major boost from a global franchise giant is like a flavor explosion for us all. Pizza has this magical ability to fill not just our bellies but also our hearts with nostalgia and happiness, doesn't it?Now, while we're all gearing up for some delicious slices, let's also think about finding that perfect balance. Speaking of opportunities, have you ever considered diving into the world of fitness franchise opportunities? It's like a way to embrace the joy of pizza while keeping an eye on our wellness goals. Just a thought for those who want to have the best of both worlds!
