An urgent recall alert had been issued for Fresh Frontier’s 300 g and 500 g spicy chicken mango pasta salad sold at IGA and Farmer Jack’s in Western Australia.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand warned that the product’s use‑by marker of 17 May signalled possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes.
‘Listeria monocytogenes may cause severe illness in pregnant women, unborn babies, neonates, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals,’ the advisory stated.
The authority added that the wider population could also fall ill after eating contaminated food.
Fresh Frontier advised customers not to consume the salad and to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
‘Consumers should not eat this product,’ the recall notice read.
‘Consumers should return the product or products to the place of purchase for a full refund.’
‘Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’
The company had faced a similar recall in 2023 when its chicken bacon pasta salad underwent withdrawal over comparable listeria concerns.
