Unlock the secret to a century-long life with the Today team’s recent discovery!

The age-old question of how to live life to its fullest and longest has been pondered by many throughout the centuries.

The secret to achieving that sweet and revered milestone of 100 has been sought after by generations, and experts have sought to pull back the curtain on this well-guarded secret.

One such expert is Marcus Pearce, a longevity strategist whose decade-long research and travels have given him profound insights into the lives of those who have reached the golden age of 100.

So, what’s the secret to living longer?

Despite the vast array of health trends claiming to be good for one’s body, Marcus' advice for a long life is simple.

'I have to start with what it is not, I have never interviewed a centenarian who says it is my ice bath, it is my breathing work, it is my meditation or vegan diet that's helped me live longer,' Marcus shared.

'What they love is they are physically active, they are socially active and have a compelling reason to get out of bed each day.'

Marcus has travelled far to the Greek island of Ikaria, famously known as 'The island where people forget to die', to do his research.

There he found out that there is 80 per cent less dementia in Ikaria and 20 per cent less heart issues. What’s more, is that the people there loved their food and wine!

'But importantly, they love to walk too,' Marcus added.

'They say “Why drive when you can walk.”'

He suggested keeping in shape with 30 minutes of activity a day to prevent dementia by 42 per cent.

'I think that is a really big key.'

You may have also heard of several ‘bio hacks’ like ice baths and controlled breathing.

However, Marcus reminded everyone that these kinds of activities should be done as a supplement to being physically active, rather than as your primary health tactic.

He also reminded everyone not to be too bothered by age, saying: 'And stop saying “I'm too old and I don't have time”.'

'Yale research shows we take 7.5 years off our lives if we have this “It is all downhill from here” mentality.'

Other tips from Marcus include ditching negative discussions, avoiding extreme diets or exercise, and avoiding obsession with ‘life hacks'.

Genetics of longevity are also one of the reasons some people live to a ripe old age. And I mean live, not exist! I'm hoping to crack the Century, both sides of my family have lived into their nineties and over 100, and that was back before modern medical treatments..active, social, and simple non processed food ...

Pearce states he is a "vegan" but does not disclose the diet of the people of Ikaria. I bet they eat meat! Nor can I find out how old he is.

From his website, www.https://marcuspearce.com.au/about/

Since then, Marcus’s online courses have been consumed by over 20,000 people in 155 countries and he has delivered keynote presentations and trainings to companies as big as NAB all the way down to local communities. Sectors including banking, health, wellness and real estate trust Marcus to help their teams perform to exceptional standards.

The already loud alarm bells just rang louder at this one bolded word. In addition, the section on the island of Ikaria on the website is nothing more than a thinly veiled digital travel brochure.

There you have it. Buy the book, watch the video, take the course, go on a overpriced Greek holiday and get totally duped!

Humans are far too complex to simplify the answers. Living in a society that is more complicated as time goes on doesn’t help. Some issues are not resolved by being more “socially or physically active”. I generally follow my instincts but that’s just me. Que sera, sera. 😀
