Uncover how to double your Qantas Frequent Flyer points this Christmas season!

The festive season is here, and you know what that means—plenty of reasons to celebrate with family and friends!

And while the holiday season is especially enjoyable, there are also plenty of opportunities to take advantage of gift sales and unique promotions—like Qantas’ Double Frequent Flyer promo.

Aussie travellers who are Qantas Frequent Flyers are in luck this Christmas because the airline has recently revealed two specially-themed aircraft.

These planes—‘Dasher-8’ and ‘Roo-dolph’—have been decorated for the holiday season and will be flying around the domestic and regional network.

It gets even better. For those lucky enough to score a seat on either plane until the end of December, Qantas will give you double Frequent Flyer points!

Dasher-8 rolled out of the airline’s Brisbane hangar with a bright red sleigh and friendly, festive kangaroos on board.

Meanwhile, Roo-dolph’s interior is just as jolly, with Christmas carols promised to be played during the boarding process.

‘All the crew had a fantastic time operating the first Dasher-8 flight from Brisbane to Rockhampton,’ QantasLink cabin crew member Tiffany Gobbe said.

‘Customers were so excited being welcomed by Santa at the gate and then seeing our Dasher-8 aircraft in all its festive glory as they walked across the tarmac set the mood for a fun flight.’

‘I hope I get to fly on Dasher-8 a few more times in the lead up to Christmas.’

The airline has also launched a domestic Christmas sale with their themed aircrafts’ debut. Travellers can access great deals for as low as $150, with economy fares starting from $109 one-way on more than 40 routes.

These include flights from Launceston to Melbourne for $109, Brisbane to Newcastle for $129, and Melbourne to Gold Coast or Sydney for $135. For a bit more, you can get from Cairns to Sydney for $179, Adelaide to Alice Springs for $209, and Melbourne to Perth for $269.

These deals are only available for a limited time and apply to various travel periods from January-September 2024.

Qantas’ 'wine time' is also moved from 4:00 p.m. to midday for the first time, so domestic customers travelling in economy can enjoy a complimentary glass of Australian wine or beer with their lunch or snack.

Qantas earlier revealed the first of its new A220 aircraft in its QantasLink fleet, which features a stark departure from its iconic red branding. The new plane sports an Indigenous design, with blue and green dominating the look.

The A220 unit is the first of 29 to replace Qantas’ Boeing 717s over better fuel efficiency and range. It is expected to fly early next year, initially between Melbourne and Canberra.

That's adorable! And seeing Santa with his boomers towing the sleigh makes me think that someone needs to do a cover of "Six white boomers" so that we can get that awful pedo out of our collective memories and still have a fun, Aussie Christmas song

I would rather the flights left and arrived on time rather than a glass of wine!
