Unbelievable! What shocking act did this DoorDash driver commit that this customer spotted?

These days, many Aussies are enjoying the ease and convenience offered by food delivery services like DoorDash. On those lazy winter nights, who can resist having a hot, delicious dinner delivered right to their doorstep every once in a while? There's no question that, while pricey, ordering in saves a lot of time and effort, giving us more time to enjoy our evening crossword or our favourite TV show.

However, adventures in the world of food delivery can sometimes take a shocking twist, and by that, folks, we don’t mean the driver taking an unexpected detour on the way to your place.

Just recently, howls of disbelief were heard online when a frustrated Melbourne food lover took to social media to share a truly shocking tale involving their dinner - or the lack thereof.

It all started with an insatiable craving for pizza that’s chock-full of gooey, cheesy herb and garlic goodness, something that could make any Aussie’s heart sing with delight.

The anticipation was mounting as the customer ordered their culinary delight from DoorDash. The clock ticked on as their hunger pangs intensified, awaiting that buzzer ring announcing the arrival of that perfect pizza. What greeted them once they lifted that box lid, however, left them not with a satisfied grin but a gaping mouth of disbelief.

An entire 'column' of their pizza was missing!

'I’ve ordered this many times and it’s clear that a column of bread was taken out from my order of herb and garlic squares,' the horror-struck diner reported on Reddit.

To further prove their point, they even uploaded a photo showing an entire row of the anticipated cheesy goodness conspicuously missing from the order.

Their post sent shockwaves across the internet. Comments on the post ranged from disbelieving food lovers to those with concerns about hygiene, given the obvious evidence that the food had been tampered with.

'This is why Macca's and KFC started putting the tape on,' one fellow netizen noted. The consensus was clear. 'You don't ***** with someone's food. Plain and simple,' another commented.

Our pizza-loving Melbourne resident recounted to DoorDash the highly suspicious gap between the pickup of the food and its ultimate delivery to them.

'We’ve ordered this item quite often, and this is not normal,' they said. 'Also, it was apparent that a column of bread was taken out and the rest smushed together.

'There was also a considerable delay between the delivery agent receiving the food from the restaurant and his journey towards my home. I feel the food was tampered with.'

Key Takeaways
  • A Melbourne diner reported that a section of their pizza delivery, ordered through DoorDash, had been removed before it arrived at their home.
  • The customer shared the incident online, including a photograph of the apparently incomplete order.
  • The post gathered significant online attention, with many expressing anger and disgust at the situation.
  • The customer has reported their concern to DoorDash, noting that there was also a significant delay between the food being picked up from the restaurant and delivered to their home.
The post concluded, leaving us hanging, uncertain as to the outcome. Did they ever get their perfect pizza night? Or was it forever tarnished by this brazen heist?

As reported by NPR, a recent study conducted in the US revealed a shocking truth - one in four food delivery drivers admit to eating customers' food before delivery! This survey of 500 drivers, along with over 1,500 customers ranging from 18-77 years old, found that an astonishing 30 per cent of delivery drivers confess to stealing a bite of food from their customer's orders.

One respondent to the survey sighed, ‘We're sorry to report that sometimes, impulse gets the best of deliverers, and they violate their sacred duty by taking some of the food!’

Back in 2019, in the land of stars and stripes, a DoorDash driver horrified an unsuspecting dinner customer and the wider internet community by sipping the very milkshake they were in the process of delivering! The audacious act was caught on the household's CCTV, and with a single slurp, the driver sent shockwaves across the nation and beyond, making international headlines.

We can only hope the average Aussie delivery driver is a little more honest!

Don't be so lazy & go out to buy your own Pizza.

Rarely ever order home delivery for takeaway, my grandson gets pizza home delivered but has never had any problems with food missing. On the very few times we buy takeaway, due to being too expensive and not fitting into our budget nowadays, we do pick up.

Just this winter we were going out to do our weekly shop, on opening the front door what do we find but some persons entire evening meal on our doorstep stone cold and the local birds had helped themselves to the chips which were strewn around our driveway along with the Chicken parma and we heard nothing from the person delivering it the previous night, not even a knock on the door .

Out of curiosity I compared the menu prices from Menulog etc against the restaurant menu prices. There was one hell of a mark up in the menu log prices and then the delivery fee was added to it. You would have to be crazy to use the delivery firms or have too much money. It is laziness pure and simple.

Order than Short drive to pick it up....unless no car...which than it's understandable...otherwise I agree with you..more money than sense
