Unbelievable! Commuter shocks passengers with bizarre public transport behaviour

We’ve all had to share public transport with some pretty unpleasant characters at one point or another.

You know the type — the unnecessarily loud ones, the rude ones, and even the occasional aggressive ones.

But one man might just take the cake as the rudest commuter ever.

A video of the man’s bizarre behaviour was uploaded on TikTok recently, showing him taking his boots and socks off before putting his bare feet on a seat in front of him.

While displaying his feet on the Sydney train, he was also looking at other passengers with a grin on his face, as if the whole thing was something to laugh at.

And if that wasn’t enough, he then proceeded to lay his socks across the seat opposite him!

The video then cuts to the laughing video poster, who captioned the video ‘(Laughing my a** off), I’m shaken’.

The video has had over 40,000 views as of writing.

Here’s to hoping none of us ever come across a similar situation!

Now, the video has also brought to mind a few things other commuters find absolutely frustrating with Aussie public transport.

A poster on Reddit asked fellow Aussies to share their top public transport pet peeves, and the users came up with relatable answers.

In general, noise was something many hated hearing.

One user said they hated loud telephone conversations ‘for the entire 50-minute bus ride’ done without pausing!

Another said the same of loud exchanges.

‘Any unnecessary conversations. The whole train doesn’t want to hear about your family drama.’

And the icing on the noisy cake from a third user: ‘People playing videos at top f*****g volume of their phones or speakers.’

‘No one else wants to listen to your God d**n awful music or videos. Be polite and considerate of others, it’s really not that hard!’

That last one probably waited a long time to have his say, eh?

Aside from noise-related complaints, other users took aim at bad habits.

One user said she despised people who didn’t move into aisles on full trains and those who board before other passengers are able to exit.

Another was disappointed that cleanliness was in short supply among commuters.

‘People who leave behind their coffee cup, burger wrapper, crumbs, or used tissues. Mate, use the bin,’ they said.

Another user said: ‘People who don't give up seats — especially in the disabled seating area — to elderly, disabled, or pregnant people.’

Key Takeaways

  • A man was caught on video taking his shoes and socks and placing his bare feet on a seat while riding a Sydney train.
  • Meanwhile, other Aussies shared their top public transport pet peeves in a Reddit post.
  • Most complaints involved noisy commuters.
  • Other users took aim at bad habits other people practiced, such as not waiting for people to get out of buses or trains before rushing in.
And then there were also stranger pet peeves one wouldn’t expect even being mentioned…

‘People licking the train windows,’ a user said.

And lastly, another added: ‘Blokes having a w**k. True story.’

Er… perhaps some stories are better left untold… (half) kidding!

If by any chance you’d like to read more about wild and wacky commuter tales, be sure to check out how one plane passenger thousands of feet in the air found themselves with an extra foot on their flight.

Then there’s also this couple who were caught doing something better done behind closed doors… on a bus!

So, what is your reaction to this story? Have you had the unfortunate experience of commuting with rude passengers?

Tell us your thoughts and experiences below!

To this story it was done as a tik tok video.
The person filming , filmed from the start , how did the know this person was going to do this . It's a story that is made just for tik tok.

Not saying strange and disgusting things don't happen

Over the years I've seen and heard it all. But never or would ever film it.

Man cutting his nails both finger and toe nails on the train

Many many loud phone conversations my PET HATE is when someone has their phone on speaker in public and your hearing their whole conversation.

I hate loud conversations where every 2nd word is cussing.

I hada wonderful 40 minute trip on a train one day when a woman got on with a young lad about 12 years old who was screaming "I don't want to be on this f***ing train, let me off this f"""ing train at the same time kicking the doors, bashing the windows.
Mum didn't say a thing!!!
Another passenger eventually told him to calm down, to which he replied "I'm going to get my dad to kick your "f***ing "head in".
Still Mum did or said nothing.
This went on for over 30 minutes.
I so wanted to shove him off the train at the first station and say ' there, now you're off the f*""ing train.
Maybe he had some underlying condition or maybe he was just a brat, but I do think Mum should have removed him from train, until he calmed down.
Found out later we should have rung (number is shown on display on all trains) and they would have been removed at the next station.

Just like everything else. No enforcement of laws and rules. Continues the bad behaviours. Governments need to concentrate on core principles, health, education, public transportation, urban utilities and of course appropriate enforement of all laws. Instead of being sport, entertainment and cultural entrepreneurs. Tax money, let's get back to the basics please.

At least he took off his shoes, I've seen loads of people on busses and trains, with their feet up on seats, wearing filthy dirty shoes...!

To say nothing of the parents who just sit there while their little darlings climb all over seats.
Bit hard to expect the kids to have respect when their parents obviously have none.

No consideration for others! disgusting, should be fined in my opinion.

When I first started work in London I had to travel from the country to the edge of the city on the steam train and then into the centre of the city on the tube. Like all poms who are great at queuing, the tube users were by & large considerate in their dealings with other tube users. No loud music or inappropriate actions but also no space to do so. I travelled for several years & don't have any complaints about people I shared my journeys with. Mind you it is certainly different in today's world with no one giving any respect to others especially older Australians like myself. Luckily I never go on trains or busses as I have limited movement. Mind you on Thursday I am fulfilling a forever dream of jumping out of a plane. Hopefully, this will kick start my finding myself again!

As a disabled person who uses public transport daily I would like to point out that on my regular bus route the young people (students particularly) are always the most polite, helpful and respectful. My continuing trouble is with elderly travellers who sit in the only two wheelchair spaces on the bus and won't give them up for someone in a wheelchair. They all use their age as an excuse for being totally inconsiderate. Thank God for the normally abused teenagers.

Just like everything else. No enforcement of laws and rules. Continues the bad behaviours. Why in Hells Teeth would we require the Government to enforce behavior?? Surely it is a Parental responsibility. Dont care... Lazy....Dumb Parents.

Because a lot of the behaviours are unlawful. So settle petal.

unfortunately, it is true about loud-speaking Chinese. I'm Chinese but I'm from Singapore. We have migrants of Chinese from China, and they have a cultural habit to speak loudly in public as if they are in their own homes.
There are cultural differences among Chinese from different countries and different upbringings, but Chinese from China generally have this speak-loudly habit.

That’s refreshing to hear 😊
