TV host's shocking comment on Princess Catherine's post-cancer look sparks outrage

In a world where public figures are constantly scrutinised, comments about their appearances are not uncommon to make headlines.

However, when such remarks are directed at someone who has just returned to the public eye after a private battle with cancer, the backlash can be particularly intense.

This was the case for a TV presenter whose recent comment about the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has ignited a firestorm of criticism.

The controversy began when Kaur, a former Big Brother contestant and regular commentator on shows like Good Morning Britain and Loose Women, took to social media to question why Kate appeared to have aged.

'Genuine question—why has Kate aged so much? Isn't she only 42? Is she a smoker? It's the only explanation,' Kaur wrote.

She reposted an article about the Princess of Wales attending the Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph.

The insensitivity of the remark did not go unnoticed. Social media users quickly defended the Princess, calling Kaur's comment 'dreadful' and 'disgusting.'

The backlash was swift and severe, with many pointing out that Kate had recently undergone cancer treatment, which could understandably affect her appearance.

Initially, Kaur doubled down on her statement, even when confronted with the fact of Kate's cancer treatment, comparing it to her own brother's experience with the disease.

However, as the backlash grew, Kaur posted a video where she admitted her tweet was 'stupid' and apologised if it offended.

She also highlighted the abuse she received in response, which included 'sexual, racist [and] violent' messages.

In the same video, Kaur made controversial remarks about Kate's privilege and the public's response to her original tweet, which she felt was influenced by her ethnicity.

She accused critics of pitting Kate against Meghan Markle and of trying to silence her voice because she is a brown woman.

The Princess of Wales, known for her grace and poise, has not publicly responded to Kaur's comments.

Instead, she has continued to carry out her royal duties with dignity.

During the Remembrance Sunday service, Kate was seen wearing a black, military-style jacket adorned with three poppies and a silver Queen's Dragoon Guards brooch, symbolising her role as the regiment's Colonel-in-Chief.

Her choice of attire, including pearl earrings, was noted for its respectful nod to tradition and the late Queen Elizabeth's preference for understated elegance on such occasions.

The incident with Kaur raises essential questions about the public discourse surrounding public figures' appearances, particularly women, and the boundaries of respectful commentary.

It also highlighted the challenges faced by those in the public eye who must navigate personal health struggles while fulfilling their public roles.

I have heard her idiotic vapid remarks, as soon as she opens her Gob. She reminds me of a old Tommy Steele hit? " What a mouth, what a mouth, what a North and South blimey what a mouth she's got. As far as her being an actress she'd be good as a Drury Lane Whore. Also the first she thing she does when losing an argument is play the race victimisation card. She's the epitome of the argument against multiculturalism Always spouting off about happened in India a place she may have visited , but wasn't morn there, perhaps she should there and live there and use here ill gotten gains and help people she look down her nose at.

I have witnessed how cancer treatments take their toll on peoples' health and appearance. They are toxins used to fight the disease. It damages your skin which may or may not improve with heaps of moisturizer and other treatment. I know a lady who didn't lose all her hair but has a bald patch that her other hair covers fairly well. Her hair also hides large scars numerous surgical operations too

Although Kate has not commented on her vile statement she should use her connections (if she has any) to have this person fired and black banned from every media outlet in England. Regardless of Kate being a royal this Kaur woman obviously shows she has no compassion for anyone going a life threatening illness.

This person deserves all the vitriol that was sent her way. She deliberately made those comments to create the impression the POW was aging due to tobacco usage and was not due to illness. Should be sacked. USA X users got stuck into her forr her nastiness.

this lady biggest problem is "a former Big Brother contestant" which mean she is a Twit and nothing she says is relevant - plus she not looking that good either.
Panda Eyes just looks and sounds like a prat wannabe.

At least Princess Catherinehas a real reason for still looking unwell.

I know nothing of Ms Kaur, but as a current sufferer of cancer the treatments can affect your appearance and the energy it takes to stand for any length of time. I admire the way Princess Catherine, Princess of Wales holds herself up in public during this ordeal. May she continue to improve and go on to show what a lovely person she is. Ms Kaur has shown her character and her lack of knowledge.

Comments on appearance are lazy, unimaginative and ignorant. Unless a person's appearance is the point of what they are doing, leave it out. Women especially are entitled to wear whatever they damn-well please. No one needs either our approval or applause for their choice of clothing.

well done nellie.

Another factor not considered in any of the comments is that people age differently. I once saw a person obviously younger than I was at the time, who had a badly wrinkled neck. I felt sorry for her & then she turned around & I saw it was my cousin!! & she was nearly 3 years younger than me.

I am one of the lucky ones with skin which has not aged greatly. Because of this, I have trouble getting aged care assistance as I keep getting told I don't look my age. Trouble is, my body knows how old it is.
