Turns out, we’ve been eating Maccas Big Mac’s all wrong

We’re sure everyone here already had a taste of Macca’s specialty – the Big Mac.

We all know the classic tune from the ads right? “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun”. Or are we just a little obsessed?

Either way, the Big Mac is a fast food classic that just hits the spot better than anything else from time to time.

However, one foodie from Sydney has been saying that most of us Big Mac lovers have been missing out on the best way to eat this bonafide McTreat – but not everyone is a fan.

So, we’ll let you be the judge.

In his Instagram post, Jonathan Massaad shared a video showing “the best Big Mac hack ever”, according to his caption.

The young baker demonstrated his burger trick by removing the top half of the bun (the rounded part with the sesame seeds), before flipping the middle piece of bread (which contains the special Big Mac sauce) over to sandwich the two patties between the remaining slices.

So from a previous three-bun burger, you’re now left with two buns, sandwiching the two patties, lettuce, pickles, cheese, onions, and the signature sauce in the middle.

By doing this method, Jonathan claims that the “meat and sauce ratio is a lot better” and the burger will feel a lot more balanced.

“The best Big Mac hack ever. Who has tried this before?!” he wrote.

Even though some comments agreed with him and said they have been “doing the hack for years”, many Macca’s fans were not amazed with the hack.

One person wrote: “Why are you wasting food?”

Another commenter simply said: “Noooooo,” while a third added: “I’m paying for three buns, I’m gonna eat three buns.”

And we get it! Not everyone is fond of turning their Big Mac into a Small Mac.

So, to get the most bang out of your buck, why not just try recreating the famous burger at home? Even Macca’s chef said that their ‘secret’ special sauce isn’t so secret anymore…

Turns out, all you need is some store-bought mayonnaise, sweet pickled relish, classic yellow mustard, a little bit of white wine vinegar, a few pinches of garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. And all of these can be found at your local supermarket!
