Traveller’s shocking bag act caught on camera: Outrageous or clever? You decide!

We've all probably experienced the stress of trying to fit our luggage within the strict carry-on limits when flying.
However, one woman’s actions have caused quite the debate online after she was caught on camera sneaking extra bags on a flight.
The travel etiquette debate has been reignited after a woman was caught on camera sneaking extra bags onto a plane.
Although it’s rare, some people do come up with ways to get around the strict carry-on luggage requirements.
However, this sneaky act was labelled ‘unacceptable’ by many after being captured carrying multiple bags onboard a flight without paying the fees.
A man named Kyle Mark shared the woman’s ‘bold’ move on social media after spotting her while they were both getting ready to board the plane.
In the footage, she showed the passenger dragging her luggage with a red jacket draped over the entire suitcase in an attempt to disguise the stack of bags underneath.
‘I know this woman had bags hidden behind that jacket. But she was bold, and she was confident and got them on, in addition to (the one piece that is allowed),’ Kyle said in the video.
And while Kyle was impressed with the woman’s act, describing her as ‘fiscally responsible’ and his ‘hero’, others disagreed.
‘Nope! Unacceptable! Now someone else who legit only has one carry-on is going to have to check it at the gate because of her rude a**,’ one said.
Another stated: ‘Except she scammed other passengers out of bin (overhead locker) space.’
Someone else agreed and said they’d love her even more if she didn’t have to ‘inconvenience the other 200 persons on board’.
A fourth added: ‘It’s always these kinds of people who also refuse to keep their personal items below the seat and fill a whole row of overhead compartments.’
While someone else wrote: ‘What are you people hauling with you on every flight? Why would you need to pack that much stuff as a carry-on?’
Others jumped to the woman’s defence, with one saying their ‘lips are sealed’ so long as they’re still able to put their bags in the overhead bin.
‘I love everything about this, and I would do the same,’ another replied.
This isn’t the first time someone has come up with an unusual method to sneak extra luggage onboard a plane without paying.
In a post uploaded to social media, someone who goes by @/freiavi showed how she removed the insides of her travel pillow and filled it with extra clothing.
‘POV (point-of-view): you’ve just booked a Ryanair flight without wanting to pay for extra luggage,’ she captioned.
In the clip, she showed how she took the pillow through airport security and onto the plane, then once she arrived at her destination’s hotel, she dumped the contents on her hotel bed.
Another woman by the name of Anya Lakovlieva, who goes by @/nolimitua online, shared how she smuggled extra items with her aboard the plane by using the same method.
In a post she uploaded on TikTok, she can be seen stuffing the pillowcase with a load of clothes and then placing it on top of her luggage. Anya then showed a clip of herself hugging her smuggled items inside the pillow during the flight.
It can be assumed that the cabin crew checking passengers on board didn’t think twice about the pillow, as it is often used by passengers as a sleeping aid.
One frequent traveller made waves online as well when she shared her simple but controversial trick for securing space for her carry-on luggage inside the plane’s overhead bin. You can read her tips here.
Do you think that sneaky bag trick crossed the line? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
