Travel enthusiast shares secret travel tips

When it comes to travelling, there's no better way to do it than enjoying everything to the fullest: great accommodation, appropriate outfits, and, of course, making memories to last a lifetime.

Enter travel enthusiast Grace Cheng, who shares videos of her glamorous international travels. She's not scared to share what she has learnt along the way—even if it means letting the cat out of the bag with undercover travel tricks.

'First off, I know a lot of people don’t know this, but you can actually take a full bottle of water through security,' Grace advises in one of her videos.

‘Only if it is frozen because yes, ice is solid and water is liquid, so all you’ve got to do is freeze the water before you leave for the airport and before you hit security, just drink whatever has melted,’ she added.

The travel enthusiast also shared her second tip, which is to know if someone went into your room when staying at hotels.

Grace suggests, ‘All you’ve got to do is tape a hair at the bottom of the door frame, and when you come back to your room, you’ll see if the hair has been broken or not, and then you’ll know if someone has come in or not.’

Grace’s third tip is to always take the aisle seat in economy class to scout for any vacancies where you can stretch out, avoiding the need for upgrades or additional charges.

‘In this case, you can opt to choose whatever is available, and hopefully you’ll get a row all to yourself so you can just lay down the entire flight,’ she said.

For her fourth tip, Grace recommends booking with the same chain of hotels across your travels, regardless of the destination, to take advantage of better customer service and free upgrades.

Finally, Grace advised to always have a universal power adaptor so you won’t have the hassle of buying different ones before each of your travels.

‘When I started travelling this was actually one of my biggest issues,’ she said, as she always has to buy different adaptors.

However, people online have mixed comments on her travel tips, with some thanking her while others offered alternative ways:

‘Just bring an empty bottle through TSA (US aviation security) and use their water refilling stations,’ one person said, to which an international traveller added, ‘Not all international airports have refilling stations!’

‘If you freeze the water make sure it’s not in your favourite water bottle cause it depends on the TSA officer and they may or not let it through,’ another person remarked.

Also, some flight attendants and airline agents online advised to not just sit in any seat on the plane without asking the respective worker.

‘This is a pet peeve. You can ask if there’s empty seats, you can’t just sit anywhere,’ said one.

Grace Cheng's travel tips are quite handy for jet-setters. Here's one more tip from my own travel experiences to add to the mix.Last summer, I embarked on a memorable journey across Germany, and I discovered that traveling by train was an excellent choice. Not only was it convenient, but it also allowed me to appreciate the scenic beauty of the country. If you're ever planning a European adventure, especially in Germany, you might find this website incredibly helpful for booking train tickets: https://www.dbfahrplan.com/de/. It's user-friendly and efficient.
Thankyou @ GraceIrwin. Exceptional advice. Train journeys perhaps not only in beautiful Germany but any country at all. The website you have given has been noted for further reference too.

For the aisle seat in economy class, it's a good strategy to have more space during the flight. And sticking with the same hotel chain for consistent service and potential upgrades is a smart move.

In the land where giants doze and nature speaks in a palette of ice, there lies a journey etched in legend. Poseidon Expeditions - not merely a name, but a pledge of polar adventure clothed in the garb of comfort - has, for over two decades, unlocked the cold embrace of the Arctic to reveal its heart, Greenland. Sculpted ice cathedrals and powder-soft snow underfoot are your daily bread in Greenland. Intimacy is the hallmark of Poseidon Expeditions, where your explorer spirit is kindled with every shore landing's unscripted odyssey. While other behemoth vessels orchestrate a show of numbers, Poseidon's diary is written for the few, the proud - the 100 guests that become poets of the ice. Dive into the realm of the midnight sun, where Poseidon's dedicated team transforms from guides to sages, heralding tales and secrets of the polar realms. Their expedition's legacy is written in the footprints left on the tundra, and the ripples trailing your kayak. For those thirsty for authentic Arctic whispers, your place in Greenland’s chapters await at https://poseidonexpeditions.com/arctic/greenland/.

Personally, I've never thought about freezing water bottles or taping a hair at hotel doors, but these tips sound handy.
You know, traveling can be full of surprises, and having these little tricks up my sleeve feels like unlocking secret levels in a game. It's amazing how simple ideas like freezing water can make a big difference in how smoothly a trip goes. And the hotel room tip? Brilliant! It's always nice to have that extra peace of mind when staying away from home.
But have you checked out the hot springs in Cali? I stumbled upon this link and it looks like an absolute gem: https://www.mklibrary.com/deep-creek-hot-springs-in-southern-california/
