Ingredients

  • 3 eggs , yolks and whites separated
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 250g mascarpone
  • 1 1/4 cups black coffee , hot and strong!
  • 2 tbsp Kahlua , or other liquor of choice (skip for alcohol free)
  • 200g (24 - 30) lady fingers, eg savoiardi biscuits
  • Cocoa , for dusting

Instructions

  • Beat yolks and sugar in an electric mixer on medium speed 5 minutes or until it changes from yellow to pale yellow (almost white), and is thick
  • Add vanilla and mascarpone, beat until just combined and smooth. Transfer mixture to a bowl, set aside.
  • Clean bowl and whisk. Add egg whites and beat until it's stiff , should be all white foam
  • Add 1/2 the cream mixture into the egg whites. Gently fold through. When most incorporated, add the remaining cream mixture and fold through until just combined
  • Mix coffee and liquor together. Quickly dip biscuits in and line the bottom of a 20cm square dish.
  • Spread over half the cream, then top with another layer of coffee dipped biscuits.
  • Spread with remaining cream.
  • Cover, refrigerate for at least 4 - 5 hours, preferably overnight
  • Dust with cocoa powder just before serving - either before you cut or after serving on a plate

I love tiramisu! Lately I’ve been making individual ones in glasses, and I also found lemon tiramisu recipes online, which I and my family and friends are loving.

I was searching online for individual tiramisu recipes for a dinner party and came across the lemon ones. This recipe is from the Delicious website.

Geez Suzanne, diners at your house are very lucky indeed! Absolutely love your recipes. Thank you so much for sharing them - inspiring!

Shame I have never been able to bring myself to eat anything that is made with uncooked egg, the thought of it makes me feel sick.

Totally agree Gsr. As a health professional, was always warned never to eat uncooked eggs, they can carry salmonella.

Didn't your mothers give you egg flips when you were growing up. I had them, and I gave them to my kids, and they're living.

Thankyou again Suzanne rose. One of my favourite desserts.

With meals using recipes like those you post here perhaps we could invite ourselves to a meal with your family if we ever get over there? We don't eat much. 😀
I would love to share a meal with you and your wife anytime you are in sydney. You may not eat much but I would be making a feast
