This wardrobe was given a complete makeover – and all it took was a few Kmart bargains!

Let’s face it, we all have our own cluttered spaces in our homes that we want to clean but never find the right time to do so. It could be a spare bedroom, a dirty kitchen, or the cupboard under the sink.

For some of us, our wardrobes give us the most headaches. Whether it's large or small, it can be a challenge to stay organised and just find basic items.

Luckily, one woman has the solution to your wardrobe-cleaning woes – and she’s ready to share her tips with everyone.

Her walk-in wardrobe was transformed into a stylish, organised space after decluttering and using a few Kmart products.

Tiffany, who runs the interior design page @home.style.by.tiff on Instagram, uploaded before-and-after videos of the transformation online.

‘For months now, I have been wanting to give our small walk-in wardrobe a declutter and makeover. I am so happy with how this turned out!’ Tiffany captioned the video.

In the first video she shared of the wardrobe, the space looked clean but cluttered and a little dark. It was also packed with clothes, shoes, accessories, bedding, and boxes stacked all over the place.

To fix this, Tiffany decluttered her wardrobe first. As daunting as this sounds, it’s fairly easy to create more space in your wardrobe. One way to do this is to review all your items and choose which ones you regularly use and the items you can donate or throw away. More tips on unlocking extra storage space can be read here.

Next, Tiffany removed her shelving units and side tables that were used to hold her shoes and accessories. She also took out her hanging shelf organiser, which she used to store her folded clothes.

Then, to give the space a ‘fresh’ look, Tiffany added dresser drawers from Fantastic Furniture. This freed up a lot of hanging space in her wardrobe.

She also added several Large Plastic Shoe Storage Boxes, which retail for $7.50 each from Kmart, and Linen Look Underbed Storage Boxes, which cost $12 each.

Tiffany then placed the shoe boxes on top of each other to form one big stack, and some were placed on one of the dresser drawers.

Meanwhile, the large linen under-bed storage boxes were placed on the top shelf – a handy place to keep items that aren’t used as often or clothes that aren’t in season.

Now with a more functional storage system in place, the Wollongong local made changes to give her wardrobe a more ‘stylish’ look.

The biggest design difference to her wardrobe is the use of LED lights, specifically Kmart’s LED Light with Sensors. According to the product description, Kmart’s product ‘provides a comforting white light that is ideal for bedrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and stairs’.

For $12 a strip, the lights only turn on when someone walks into the wardrobe. They also provide sufficient lighting to see all your clothes and accessories on display.

The next change that transformed Tiffany’s wardrobe was the addition of gold handles to her white dresser drawers. You can get a two-pack from Kmart for $7.50.

Tiffany also bought the Nicola rug for $22 at Kmart as well because she said that this adds a cosy touch to her wardrobe. The colour white also enhanced the brightness inside the wardrobe as the light tends to bounce off white space.

Tiffany also bought a Bouclé Ottoman from Kmart, which retails for $39, in one corner of her walk-in wardrobe. The space above one of the dresser drawers now has a mirror, and on top of the dresser, there’s now a tray with a diffuser, a faux plant, and a candle for added aesthetics.

‘Using some plastic shoe storage boxes and linen look storage boxes from @kmartaus as well the Bouclé ottoman, LED sensor lights and some decor also from Kmart, this whole space looks so different,’ she wrote in her post.

Many of Tiffany’s followers were blown away by the transformation. Most of them felt inspired to revamp their own spaces.

‘This looks amazing!’ One exclaimed.

‘This is phenomenal; you’ve done the most sensational job,’ another shared.

‘Such a fabulous idea,’ another wrote.

‘Oh, the end result is the best part about organising a walk-in robe,’ another said while someone else agreed and said the wardrobe now ‘looks so good’.

‘Such a great idea in a small space,’ one more replied.
