This unlikely LEGO hack can boost both your home decor and your brain health!

LEGO possesses an enchanting quality that has the power to captivate people of all ages, stirring up a wave of nostalgia with every brick and crevice.

It's a timeless toy that has stood the test of time, continuing to spark joy and imagination in the hearts of both young and old alike.

LEGO is special for so many reasons. Sure, if you’re a lego enthusiast then you can build astonishing and intricate designs of some of the world’s most iconic places and buildings, but they’re far more versatile than that.

As it turns out, LEGO isn’t just a toy – it can actually be utilised as a part of an ingenious home decor hack, as one mum recently demonstrated.

The mum took to Facebook to share her novel idea of putting together a LEGO Flower Bouquet set, inside a $12 Teal Tiered Vase from Kmart, to make a playful yet chic centrepiece for her home.

She pointed out that since LEGO blocks can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, the possibilities for coming up with new ways to use them to decorate their home and express their creativity are essentially endless.

Her inventive idea soon gained traction on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group, with many people praising her post and saying they’d be putting their own LEGO flowers and vases to work.

One user wrote: 'I love this!'

'That's so cool,' another praised.

A third chimed in: 'I got this set for Christmas, might need to go check out my local Kmart for vase inspo!'

'I have all the Lego flowers done as a bouquet. I have the new bouquet coming when released in February and some daffodils to start a new bouquet,' another shared.

Others pointed out that the other LEGO models can also work well with home decorating, with one person writing: 'The succulent one is great as well. Each plant can be used as a decoration separately.'

Another added: 'Love it! Love my bonsai tree I got for Christmas.'

But aside from providing a pop of colour and being aesthetically pleasing, constructing these types of LEGO sets can come with added benefits, especially when it comes to mental well-being.

The LEGO Group recently released a statement claiming that using its toys has positive mental health outcomes for children and adults alike.

The Denmark-based brand recently released its annual ‘Well Report’ which surveyed 32,781 parents and adults.

The report found that 78 per cent of adults claimed LEGO play helped with their own well-being, while 76 per cent said it was fundamental to their happiness.

Plus, almost 90 per cent of respondents said playing with LEGO strengthened their relationship with their children or partner, while 88 per cent said that playing with the construction blocks boosted their confidence.

The company even has its own advice for us on mindful play, advising that one of the keys to getting the most out of your LEGO experience is to forget about the 'end product' of your construction and instead focus on the experience.

A clever spin here is to forgo any manuals and just let your creativity guide you.

'Don’t worry about the end result. At least to start with, your aim isn't to produce something "good" or "bad", but rather on producing an output,' LEGO said.

'For this reason, it’s best to avoid building from a LEGO manual.'

'The focus should instead be on the process of building, which can be the thing to return to whenever you notice that the mind wanders.'

We never caught the Lego bug in our house. We did try when our eldest was old enough to build stuff we bought him a spaceship that he made with his dad. After it was all broken down again we told him to build something, anything but we got floods of tears, it was a spaceship and only a spaceship and he couldn't do it without dads help. That was our first and last Lego experience. ;)
