This pro organiser’s clever cupboard hack will transform your kitchen storage

We all know the struggle of trying to keep our kitchen tidy and organised. It seems like no matter how hard we try, our pots, pans, and lids always end up in a chaotic mess. And let's be honest, nothing is more frustrating than frantically searching for the one pot lid we need.

But don't worry because we have some game-changing advice for you! We've uncovered a genius kitchen hack from professional organiser Anita Birges that is about to revolutionise your life.

So, what's the secret, you ask?

It's as simple as using the empty space on the inside of your cupboard door and sticking on some 3M Command hooks to create your very own lid holder! Say goodbye to the clutter and hello to a perfectly organised kitchen.

The best part? It's super easy to do! In a recent Instagram tutorial, Birges showed us how to create the perfect lid holder in just a few simple steps.

To start, stick two 3M Command hooks diagonally at the bottom of your pot and pan lids on the inner side of your cupboard door. Make sure to check that the door still opens and closes properly with the pot lid on it.

And be patient! Wait at least an hour before placing any items on the hooks, or they might not stick properly.

But wait, there's more! You can experiment with the placement of your pot lids to fit in an extra one, depending on how you arrange things. Using multiple hooks also makes it easier to slide a lid in and out when you need it.

Not sure if the cupboard door lid holder is the right fit for you? Don't fret; there are other options out there!

Keep pots and lids together

One simple trick is to keep your pots and lids together in a way that makes them easy to grab without having to search for the right lid that pairs with a particular pot. A deep drawer is a great option for convenient access, where you can arrange them by size to maximise space.

Use a lid organiser

Lid organisers (like this one from Kmart) are designed specifically for organising lids, whether it's pot lids or food storage container lids. They come in various sizes and materials like wood, plastic, or metal, and many have adjustable dividers to fit various-sized lids. These organisers can be placed inside a cabinet near your cooking pots for a clean and streamlined storage system.

Hang a pot rail

If you have a blank wall in your kitchen, consider investing in a pot rail. These come in multiple sizes and finishes and can be used to hang pots, pans, and lids. Hang your pots on hooks and slide the corresponding lids behind the rail above them for easy access.

Install a Lazy Susan cabinet

For a corner cabinet that tends to get cluttered, installing a Lazy Susan is an excellent investment. This is a great spot to store your cookware, with pots and pans suspended from the shelves and lids placed on the bottom for quick access.

Use a drawer divider

Drawer dividers are an inexpensive organisational tool that can be used for more than just your silverware drawer. These dividers are typically made from bamboo wood and are extendable to fit most standard-sized drawers. Use them on the side of the drawer that houses your pots and pans to arrange and hold your lids in place.

Hang a metal rack

Don't limit your pot rack to just hanging pots and pans. You can also use it to hang your lids by using hooks, which makes it easier to grab them while cooking as needed. Since it's suspended from the ceiling, a pot rack is a great way to save cabinet space, especially if you have a small kitchen and are trying to maximise every inch.

There you have it, folks! We've shared a variety of tips and tricks to help you keep your pot lids organised and your kitchen running smoothly.
