Bacon is one of those foods that just seems to make everything better. Whether it’s used as a topping on a salad or wrapped around some chicken or asparagus, crispy bacon always seems to take things up a notch.
And let’s not forget about how good bacon tastes on its own. When it’s perfectly cooked, it’s crisp, salty and just a bit chewy, and it’s almost impossible to eat just one piece.
We previously reported on a bacon cooking method that promises to make the dish 'healthier'.
Now, we want to share this simple trick to make extra crispy bacon every time!
A chef has taken to social media to reveal the 'unlikely' cooking method to make this delicious breakfast staple crispy, claiming that the best way is to boil it first.
You read that right, folks! Who knew you could boil cured meat to make it extra delicious?

'If you want perfectly crispy bacon, you have to boil it,' said chef Roice Bethel in a TikTok video.
'I know that sounds like it wouldn’t work, but it does.'
The chef also noted that it prolongs the cooking process of the bacon, hence the reason why the meat becomes tastier when cooked this way.
Chef Bethel added: 'The muscle cooks extremely quickly; the fat takes a long time to render out.'

Adding water to the pan and bringing the bacon to a boil can prevent the temperature from rising quickly.
'Once the water completely evaporates … the meat’s not overcooked or burnt and the fat has perfectly rendered so it’s nice and crispy,' the chef said in the video.
The clip has gone viral, garnering over 2.9 million views and thousands of comments from astounded users who vowed to try the trick for themselves.
One user said: 'Tried this morning and it was a game-changer.'
Several people also shared their bacon cooking methods.
'Baked bacon is by far the best bacon ever. Hands down,' one person remarked.
Another added: 'Three minutes in the microwave between two sheets of paper towels will do the same thing.'
However, not everyone seems to be on board with the hack, with some users saying that they were not impressed.
One comment read: 'This is just training wheels for people who don’t know how to control the temperature of their pan.'
'Or just make it properly,' another argued.
Bacon: it's delicious, it's versatile, and it's everywhere. Regardless of how you want to prepare your bacon, this tasty treat will forever be a favourite at most dining tables across Australia (and the world)!
