But why does Dr. Charles recommend compression socks? According to him, they apply gentle pressure to help maintain healthy blood flow and ease any swelling.

'My patients regret not starting these sooner,' he added.

The video seemed to resonate with people and received plenty of positive reviews.

‘I wish I [had] known earlier. Thanks for the tip,’ a regretful commenter said.

A second added: ‘[My mom] has some of these so I actually started wearing these working at the restaurant. Now I'll wear them on long flights.’

While another shared, ‘Just bought mine today!! Been getting spider veins, and I’m worried about varicose veins.’

you don't have to spend anything if you make a habit of lifting your legs when you sit down. I've been doing it since I began nursing in 1960. It's so much easier now with recliner chairs. I do have what were called "nurses veins" (broken capilliaries) from the long hours we worked in those days but no varicose veins.

They might be good but you cannot just buy a pair over the internet if the circumference of your calves, and legs in general, have not been professional and accurately measured. It is not ‘one size fits all’. So I have my queries and reservations about these without professional measurement.

I wear quite colourful compression socks regularly since I first noticed veins. They have not worsened. My daughter first experienced bad varicose veins in her early 20's. She was told they were hereditary, usually from mother. Her father was the culprit
