The tea lady​

Do you remember the days when the workplace had a special charm that we don’t see much of these days? One of the things that made those offices special was the tea lady. Back in the day, almost every office had one. They were the unsung heroes of the workplace, bringing much-needed refreshments, a friendly face, and a bit of banter to brighten up the day. You could always hear them coming with the sound of the wonky wheels of their trolley, rattling tea cups and saucers, and the chime of spoons. They were the keepers of office gossip and seemed to know everything happening in the office. Who remembers the tea lady and the joy they brought to the workplace?

Doris was our tea lady and she was a delight, so friendly and just a beautiful lady. She always had time to chat….and remembered what we all drank and even put in our sugar! I remember when sugar cubes came in and we had to do it ourselves!!

Yes I remember the tea ladies too!! They WERE the best part of the day . Back in early 80s I've only had lady tea ladies....
