The Funeral

"Will you cry at my funeral?" Asks a Polish husband and his wife.
"Sure," answers the wife, "you know I cry over the silliest things."

Don't get what's funny; is there a subtle nuance about being

Well, I’m 70. Does that mean you’re more likely to get the joke if you’re younger? Could someone just explain it?

I expect the older people to get it. A lot of young ones today have very little sense of humour.

Well, sorry, but that fell very flat! ☹️ I think I have a good sense of humour, but I just didn’t find that funny at all.

She might cry because his pension will stop ..or she has to sell off all the Polish Salami that he has collected?
I am 80 and I don't see the point of making them Polish ... What is wrong with an Aussie Wife saying someting like that ... maybe no one would laugh ...so what is the deal here
