The Duchess of York faces a new major health crisis

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has been diagnosed with another form of cancer.

After her recent diagnosis of breast cancer, the duchess has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a dangerous form of skin cancer.

The 64-year-old Duchess had a mole removed during her treatment for breast cancer, which was later identified as malignant melanoma.

This aggressive form of skin cancer is known for its ability to spread to other parts of the body if not caught early.

The Duchess of York's medical team is currently working to determine the stage of the disease.

'Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York, has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,' a spokesperson for the Duchess said.

'Her dermatologist asked that several moles [be] removed and analysed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous.'

'Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing, but the Duchess remains in good spirits,' the spokesperson added.

The Duchess of York has also expressed her gratitude towards her medical team, particularly her dermatologist, whose vigilance led to the early detection of the melanoma.

She emphasised the importance of regular skin checks, urging everyone to monitor the size, shape, colour, texture, and emergence of new moles, which can be signs of melanoma.

The Duchess of York's health journey began last year when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

She underwent surgery and treatment at the private King Edward VII’s hospital in London—a preferred choice for members of the royal family.

As a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust and a speaker at a Breast Cancer Foundation gala in 2019, she has been a vocal advocate for cancer awareness and recovery support.

This news comes amidst a wave of health concerns within the royal family.

King Charles is due to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate, a condition affecting thousands of men each year.

'His Majesty’s condition is benign, and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure. The king’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation,' the palace said.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales is recovering in hospital after a successful planned abdominal surgery.

Her public engagements have been cancelled until Easter.

She unfortunately has the fairest skin tone most afflicted by skin cancer but melanoma is the big dread. Hope she'll be ok.

My thoughts and prayers 🙏 are with Fergie. Diana and Fergie are and were my favourite royals .

I was like 10 years behind getting a Mammogram to check Micro calcification that showed in a scan years ago. It was through Sarah's Breast cancer that I finally got a scan.

My daughters have been nagging me for ages to go and get a body check , only because I was always in the sun without sunscreen , so I will now go and ask for one

I also was in the sun a lot years ago without sunscreen. We didn’t know about the dangers as much then as we do now.

That's a worrying time for her until she finds out. All those holidays sunbaking over the years wouldn't have helped.
True. I’m 69 now and back in my teens I was out in the backyard with reef oil probably cooking myself with the ad on the radio saying “ Time to turn? So you won’t burn “every half hour. With the sun seeming stronger now, people are still out in it at the beach baking themselves not taking any notice of the damage they’re doing to themselves. At the least keep your kids safe with protective clothing, hats and sunscreen. Not worth the suffering later down the track.

Yes, I also remember reef oil with coconut oil in it. What about the tanning salons these days which should be banned!

Please correct me if l am wrong, & never having used them myself, but would the fact the name of the product contains the word OIL indicate that this is unsuitable for tanning.

l relate oils to cooking or keeping an engine cool.

As previously stated by a member, we never knew what damage the sun could do to our unprotected skin in later years when we were young people & neither did our parents or they would have covered us with some sort of creams. Perhaps those head to toes bathing suits of the early years weren't so bad after all?

Yeah but when your 16 plus years the word oil didn’t click that it was bad. We just wanted to not have white skin but look like we were healthy bimbos for the boys😊
