We've all been there – you're in the middle of doing something, and suddenly you realise that you have no idea what's going on or what you're supposed to be doing. Maybe the words just won’t come out or the thoughts won’t fully form.
For most of us, this happens occasionally and usually isn't a big deal. We can just laugh it off and move on. But for others, like morning show hosts who are under constant pressure to stay alert and engaged while they're on air, these mistakes can be a bit more embarrassing...
Take, for example, one of the most recent blooper moments that happened to Sunrise's David ‘Kochie’ Koch while he was talking with the show's weatherman, Sam Mac.
During Monday's broadcast, Sam delivered the weather report from Darling Harbour before transitioning over to Kochie.
However, when Kochie was about to mention the weatherman's name, he had a major slip up...
'Alright, Sean, thank you,' Kochie said, despite the fact that he was supposed to say ‘Sam’.
Thankfully, he was able to laugh it off and quipped: 'Or Sam, whatever your name is.'
The weatherman took the mistake in stride and responded by saying: 'Actually, it's Sam,' making light of the situation as well.
Natalie Barr, Kochie's co-host, pointed out that the Sunrise host was confusing him with Sean Power, their recently appointed executive producer who texts them updates regarding the show throughout the day.
'He keeps us up to date on what’s really happening,' she explained.
Following that, Sam pretended to mistake Kochie for the host of ABC News Breakfast, saying, 'Thanks, Michael Rowland, good to see you.'
The moment was followed by the hosts laughing out loud and Kochie giving a serious look at the camera and asking, 'Who?'
The presenters on the show, who enjoy an easygoing relationship, even had a little fun with Edwina's blunder from earlier when she had trouble pronouncing the word 'wage' during the broadcast.
'Millions of Australians are preparing for a “rage” rise,' she said and then repeated, 'Millions of Australians are preparing for a rage rise.'
She eventually gave up and changed the script to read, 'An increase in wages.'
The hilarious footage of the two incidents was shared on Sunrise's Instagram page, with the hosts jokingly calling them cases of 'Mondayitis’.
'It's one of those Mondays here at Sunrise,' the post read.
The videos amassed a flood of comments from viewers, most of whom were amused by the clip, with many of them joking that they hope there wasn't actually any 'rage' from either Kochie or Sam during the show that day.
A few users, however, found sunnier meanings for the incidents which are the show's way of telling viewers that 'everything happens for a reason’ and that everybody can relate to the moments when life 'gives you lemons'.
At least they always manage to keep their cool under pressure and make light of the situation!
