They say that to err is human – and we’re sure that even the most seasoned professionals make the occasional mistake. After all, nobody’s perfect! However, it’s a different story when you’re a public figure like Sunrise host David Koch (nicknamed ‘Kochie’), as tiny blunders can be magnified for the rest of the world to see… And remember.
A lighthearted joke by David Koch about whingeing husbands backfired horribly after a guest revealed that her husband was dying of cancer.
Kochie and co-anchor Natalie Barr were interviewing a competition winner, Christine, who won a ticket to a Caribbean cruise.

When Barr asked her who would be joining her on the trip, Mrs Linn responded, 'I'm going to take my husband.' This prompted Koch to laugh and say: 'Oh, why?'
The segment took a dark turn as Christine grimly responded: 'Because he has terminal cancer.’
The awkward moment was later shared on Twitter where it gained massive traction, reaching users from Britain and the United States.
One Twitter user wrote: 'I've watched this 15 times in a row.’
‘NOOOOOO!’ another added.
‘I think this is the greatest and most embarrassing thing I've ever seen.’ a third said, while a fourth joked: ‘Shame on you for making me laugh at terminal cancer…’
‘Oh my f***ing god, that made me cringe.’ one more chimed.

Earlier this week, Kochie set tongues wagging after sparking rumours that his 20-year career with Channel Seven's breakfast show is coming to an end.
He became emotional on Tuesday as he reminisced on memories through a montage of highlights from his tenure with the program. He later spoke of his 'incredible' time on Sunrise while his co-hosts Barr, Mark Beretta, and Edwina Bartholomew offered their congratulations.
'It has been one of the great joys of my life. It has been incredible,' he said at the time while trying to hold back tears.
'Beretts, Nat, Eddy, and Dave Walters, who has been in our ear for 20 years as part of the team, I'm so very grateful. Thank you for having me for 20 years.’ Kochie concluded.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, David Koch thanked the Sunrise team.

'Thanks for having me @sunriseon7 for the last 20 years,' he wrote, before listing his '20 most memorable moments (in no particular order)'.
'ANZAC Day service on the Kokoda Track, climbing Kilimanjaro (twice), and getting lost on the ascent.’ he mentioned as a few examples.
While he did not indicate plans to retire, some viewers thought it was a farewell post.
'Is he leaving?' one concerned follower asked.
'Good luck, Kochie… Enjoy your next adventures.’ added another.
